Willson Contreras, he’s 27th in OPS over the last 2 years. He’s our best hitter.

You hope Arenado can rebound, but I doubt it.

Herrera had an .800 OPS last year, if he can repeat that or build on it (he’s had a really nice spring), then that’s close to an impact bat.

And I think Noot’s spring gives hope that if he stays healthy he could have a breakout year. But I still think his floor is a very solid top of the order contributor, same as Donovan.

I’m not sure any of them are truly “impact”, but the depth of the lineup might be good enough for this division. There’s a lot of “ifs” and “hopes”, but they play the games for a reason. We should soon find out.

The fruit bat? Just a guess.

I think Contreras focused on hitting and not having to work with pitchers will mean a great offensive season for him. But it sure would be nice to have a few other breakouts between: Noot, Walker, Gorman and/or Burly.

Impact is subjective term. No doubt that Willson Contreras is the best hitter. He was last year despite just 80+ games played due to two major injury stints.
Hopefully at 1st /DH he will play at least 40 games more in 2025.

Contreras is a .258 lifetime hitter. 74 RBI is his career high in one season and his 118 hits are his career high in one season. At his age I don't expect him to have his greatest year.

Impact bat??

We don't need no impact bat. Holding out for MLB to allow STL to play T Ball.

I would expect him to set career bests in RBI and hits, as well as probably HRs because he was limited in PA due to being a catcher and the injuries that can come with that position. He should be healthier and play every day as a 1B, so I would expect 600 PAs, which is 150 more than he’s averaged over the last 4 seasons. He’s improved his OPS for 5 consecutive years. Not to mention the impact of simply focusing on hitting vs trying to learn the pitchers he’s catching.

I suspect he’ll be in the .830-.850 OPS range with 25-30 HRs and 80-90 or so RBIs, similar numbers to Freddie Freeman last year.

He’s probably as happy as a pig in slop.

LMAO...Oldy was 34 when he had his best year ever. You will be wrong, if he stays healthy. His OPS+ has gone up each of the 2 years he's been with the Cards.

My sleeper is Baker. Come in and take over DH and hit 30 HR and 80+ RBI

I would argue Goldschmidt's best season was when he was 25 years old when he finished second in the MVP.

And you would...and be wrong. He actually won an MVP

Top 10-15 RHHer in MLB

That is as long as he's not WASTED in the #2 hole where his "impact" would be limited. ::crazya::
