So if “working on pitches”…….isnt the outcome to not have the ball hit? What is a 35yr old vet working on that fails so miserably??

Have to admit that the pitches being worked on do indeed need some work.

The cards offered to test the trade market for him but he declined because he has no interest in winning so he's just doing his part to contribute to the culture at this point

On the other hand, Mikolas and Matz have actually pitched pretty well.
I’ll choose to put little stock in any of the three…yet.

You’d think your last start in ST You’d want to shift into Regular season mode……
Not getting bombed off the mound mode

I’m cautiously optimistic about matz and Mikolas I’m hoping they do the saving their best years for when they are in their free agent year a lot of players do. I wouldn’t bet money on it but it’s much better than them sucking. Normally I wouldn’t think Twice about grays bad spring but his injury history makes you wonder but I’m not worried about him yet

I’m projection opening day he goes 3 2/3 innings; gives up 5 ER’s, 2 HR’s.

He will be just fine - barring injury.

What's it usually mean when a 35 year old loses 2-3 mph on his fastball ?
