Cards need to stop with excuses
Saying they couldn’t trade Arenado has nothing to do with Gorman being an unproductive bat. It also has nothing to do with they selecting Sinai over Scott3.
Just because their inept off season plan failed is no players fault. It is clearly the dense ability Mo and team have when it comes to working trades.
If they wanted Matz gone, he would be. If they wanted Miklas gone he would be. If they wanted Arenado gone he would be. If they wanted Scott here - he should be - he would.
They are horrible in roster construction and should clearly own it!!

Completely agree...Mo-ran should quit and spend more time with his beautiful family!...i am so sick of the few remaining front office (donkey) kissers defending him!

Re: Cards need to stop with excuses
This offseason is one final example of how doless Mo is. It also proves that BDW is no longer in charge of the organization. The October press conference looks even more ridiculous after the lack of winter activity.
Mo is a putz and it'll be nice to see if the organization changes course next winter. Maybe Bloom won't be a pathetic, lazy, arrogant, blow hard.

I believe Scott3 is a toilet paper??
And all things considered I would give the edge to Sinai as being an entire peninsula could pay off in roster depth???
Re: Cards need to stop with excuses
We just need to have a little patience...haha
Re: Cards need to stop with excuses
The tradeable assets are Helsley and Fedde.
Can’t trade Mikolas and Matz if there is no market for them.

Re: Cards need to stop with excuses
Cranny don’t you agree that if they told Miles he wasn’t going to be in the rotation that he would change his mind about his NTC?
Also, what I believe Cardly is saying, is that there are probably teams that would take Matz and Mikolas, but not at their full contact value. In order to trade them the Cardinals would have to be willing to eat a portion of that salary, and DeWitt simply won’t do that. He would rather keep them and block, better younger players! It’s as simple as that.
Re: Cards need to stop with excuses
Mikolas had just about the worst ERA of any starter throughout MLB last season. There’s a good chance no team wants him.Hoosier59 wrote: ↑16 Mar 2025 21:34 pmCranny don’t you agree that if they told Miles he wasn’t going to be in the rotation that he would change his mind about his NTC?

Re: Cards need to stop with excuses
They COULD just DFA Mikolas and eat his money. Consider it an investment in the reset. Matz is a little different. When healthy, Matz has shown why he was signed. IF Matz can stay healthy for 3 months, you’re going to get a lot more than now. Sure, you can try and embarrass Arenado into accepting a trade, but good luck signing or extending anyone in the future. I’m not going through AGAIN why it’s worth the risk of holding on to Helsley and Fedde for the time being. Nobody said this reset was just going to be a one year thing. And…if you don’t think Bloom has a lot to say about trades etc that have an impact beyond this year, you’re an idiot.
Re: Cards need to stop with excuses
What happens if you think they need to stop and they don't?
Re: Cards need to stop with excuses
His WHIP was 1.27. The Cards were 16-16 when he started.Cranny wrote: ↑16 Mar 2025 22:09 pmMikolas had just about the worst ERA of any starter throughout MLB last season. He may have had the worst ERA but as should be pointed out it is easy to have the worst ERA if you get blown out a few games.
I love how people use advance metrics to suit their needs.
Re: Cards need to stop with excuses
Raw stat - he gave up 194 hits in 171 2/3 innings (and has a salary of $18.5 million). That's a pretty tough player to trade.thetank2 wrote: ↑17 Mar 2025 04:22 amHis WHIP was 1.27.
