Good morning.
I read where many of you have expressed concern that Winn lead off.
Leadoff must get on base and steal. Does he do this. No.
I’m not asking where he hits. Not the intent.
Do you think Winn should lead off. That’s the one answer question.
Enjoy.

Nope. Winn is not my lead off hitter. Noot or Donnie or Vic.

Noot should be the leadoff guy.
Winn should be more of a Renteria type. Renteria hit 2nd or 7th a lot. I’d say 7th vs RHP and 2nd vs LHP.

Production plays.
Is he an average hitter?
Can he repeat and build on his 2024 August then maybe and I'd understand
the appeal. There gets to be a line of LHB o/w in what is thought to be the alternatives.
2024 September absolutely not and we'd question where to hide him.
Donovan doesn't run. His XBH% was at a career high and he did get 34 2B, putting himself
in scoring position. But that increase was to league average and his BB% fell below league
average. Leaves Noot there until VS, Winn, or someone else shows up.
For now, 8th or 9th and see if OBP will become his approach.

Here is what makes my head dizzy. Not the herb. The fact that 13 seasoned posters say no, not one maybe, and yet, it continues to happen.
I’m ok with it if it works. But the board, a fan based knowledgeable board, says no.
How can that be?

Currently it is trying to place a square peg in a round hole.
The appeal is there. Put a VS2 #9, LN or BD #2. But
wanting it to happen doesn't make it so.

It works if all three are productive league percentile. Another measure is, how often does he get on from the first batter of the game.
Say 162 leadoff at bats, a good OBP would be what, including walks hit batters and hits.
