Imagine if Arenado ended up with Dodgers after all . With Roki signing, they can afford to trade a young pitcher now.

Hernandez is getting more per year. It’s a 3 year deal instead of 5, but Hernández is 3 years older. His best year was when he was Santander’s current age.

I'm no soothsayer, but this seemed somewhat predictable. Santander has always been a pure power hitter. If he's not hitting HRs, he's not hitting anything. A binge of HRs could turn his season around fast, but he's not a guy you want to put a bunch of $$$ into, IMO.
It could still be said he's a Teoscar Hernandez and that's not a bad COMP. However, Hernandez is better in all offensive categories, across the board. Hernandez also got paid a little more per year and is playing on a better team.
Both are luxury players, but not everyone can afford to pay $20mil/year for a guy like this.
