I don't know if anyone else is watching this. It's definitely not your standard superhero fare, it's more Sopranos than Batman and it's really well done.
The episode (#4 I believe) with the Sophia character's backstory was flawlessly done.

My girlfriend and I have been watching, and we love it! Colin Farrell is fantastic as Oz!

He is for sure! My favorite has to be Cristin Milioti however. She is doing an amazing job.

If you fast forward through the credits of each episode, they do a little thing where they interview the cast and producers and give extra insight to that particular episode.

We always make it a point to watch the interviews, great insight indeed! And yes, Cristin has also been fantastic!

Haven't watched it yet, and not sure that I will, but I've heard good reviews.

Do you think it's kind of a thing like the Joker movie, where it didn't start as a comic book movie, so the studio didn't want to initially do it, but then they figured they could attach it to this comic franchise and that got it made?

Idk seems to me like an explicity spin-off from The Batman... my guess is DCEU attempting to do what Marvel did on Disney+ with its series.

Also have not watched it yet, still teetering on whether to re-subscribe to Max or not.

It's excellent btw and it is a tie in to the new Batman. Supposedly the story will tie in to the next Batman movie.

Just finished this, really enjoyed it. I read an article after watching the finale about how refreshing it was to see one of these shows about a comic villain where the bad guy just goes all bad. Couldn't agree more, for this universe it felt very true to the character.

Aw, the sackless wonder is jealous because someone has a girlfriend and the best little eddy can do is whack off into a bowl of chicken wings.

Just finished this, very well done overall. Acting and writing is fantastic across the board. In the last episode I was thinking how special it was for this kid who played Vic to be able to act across from a master like Farrell in one of his first few gigs. Lucky kid!

I take back what I said in my Batman review about Farrell as penguin seeming like stunt casting. Not sure many others could have done half this well, and his exceptionally expressive eyes added a lot to the performance.

Only two complaints:

1) minor quibble: I think he overdid the limp/waddle. Woulda preferred it like 25-50% more understated.

2) I found Sofia much more sympathetic than Oz, I think mostly intentionally. But a byproduct is that it leaves the ending vaguely dissatisfying, and there were moments in the last episodes when I actually found myself pulling against the main character, which is a confusing place to be as a viewer. I'm not sure that effect was intentional.

Am example is towards the very end when Oz calls her "sick"... she didn't do anything throughout the series half as sick as what he did. I guess we're meant to take this as a disingenuous insult on his part? Like he knows it's not true but is playing it up as foreshadowing to what he has planned?

Wings are hoosier pig food.
