CT Fantasy Baseball - Interested?

I don't gather many folks that post here play fantasy baseball but wanted to get a feeler out for a league... Quincy and I have been talking about putting one together.

I know it's not for everyone. I've played for about 25 years and have two long-standing leagues running. We'd be looking probably for a 10-12 teamer pretty standard roto format through Yahoo.

If you're not interested in the league but want to chat fantasy strategy / keepers / draft prep, have at it.

Noted - would be good to have you.

Goal would be a live draft so we'd try to figure out how to have as many attend as possible.

Mainly we want people who will be active in managing their teams... not leaving guys in the lineup who are injured, adding/dropping with some frequency, etc.

Happy to talk more, I'll chalk you up as "possibly interested - beginner" :D

I'm 100% interested. Haven't played in a few years but I was telling myself I'm gonna get into it again this year. Please Please do send me the link.

I know you said 10-12 teams. I thought it might be fun to participate in a league of more teams than that (like 16-20) just so it's more involved paying attention to daily matchups as well as the depth players lower in the draft.

Either way I'm interested.

I will play, if you need a person. Be forewarned that I will smoke all of your old (bleep).

The hardest part is going to be remembering if I have a Yahoo account and what it is.
Oh, my Yahoo ID is mildly embarrassing as it's a stupid nickname from when I was a teenager and I probably registered it in 1998 or 1999. Like, it's ridiculous

Quincy was leaning towards a larger league but you really gotta know depth at that point and the draft gets lonnnng with 15+ and 26 rounds.

True and then you're depending on more people to have to keep up with even deeper teams.

Some more details -

As of now, I’m aiming for a draft date on the weekend of March 15-17th, probably in the afternoon. The draft will be live. Attendance is not required, but highly recommended.

This will be a semi-traditional 6x6 rotisserie league. The additional categories from standard 5x5 will be - Quality Starts & OPS.

I would be interested if you have the room. A fantasy player for a long time. Looks like you are getting several responses but if there is room for one more, I’m definitely interested.

It’s free.

If we have a strong league, it may not stay that way in future years.

This is actually a fun idea incase the forum shuts down

Yes, I’ve been rolling around the idea for many years. Better response than expected thus far… I think we might be able to fill out a complete 12 team league w/ all CT guys.

It might make this place more fun too - the trash-talking possibilities are endless, but of course I would never resort to such crass behavior.

I want NLCards in the league just to see how early he takes Dakota Hudson to lead his pitching staff. We can name his team the FIP Beaters.
