Toby today - “there was a big market for his upside.”

Toby yesterday before Cubs signed him - “he might never play again and everyone passed on him”

Yesterday was November 23rd?

Clearly there was a market for his upside. The Cubs didn't give him 1.5M with 1M in incentives and a spot on the 40 man out of kindness.

nothing, because they aren't cheap and they don't have a thin farm. and they didn't sign a guy who, just 7 days earlier, some idiot named toboy was saying he shouldn't be signed to anything more than a milb prove it deal, but who is now pretending it is a great signing. you are an idiot.

The Cardinals are cheap and they do have a thin farm ranked 21st by MLB before losing a Top-10 prospect via MiLB FA and have no intentions of signing major FA.

Why did you leave out the last update?

The Cardinals are 21sr in the latest update behind the Cubs and that was before losing Plummer.

Yes you should always tell the truth and not B-FIB

Even after signing with the Cubs there is a shot he could never play in the majors again if his issues come back next time he tries to play as it happened last year when he went out to rehab. MLB teams have access to his medicals and there clearly was a market for his upside or he wouldn't have got a big league deal and 1.5M locked in. The Cubs didn't just give him that money because the new GM came from Cleveland and they felt like helping Clint out.

OK, so Toby stops crying in his Cheerios...

LAST WEEK Frazier had no market and might never play again.
THIS WEEK Frazier had a big market betting on his upside... this of course being his changed tune after the northside baby bears signed him.

The Cubs won’t win 70 games next year and haven’t spent much of that $160 mil they have. What are they waiting for?

I love how dumb Cardinals fans are.

Facts:
Frazier had no market at 2.5M
Frazier may never play in MLB again
Frazier clearly had a robust market at reduced rate to the point he got a MLB deal worth 1.5M with a shot to make his 2.5M

These are facts if the Cubs signed him or if it was any of the other teams.

And the Cardinals have a viable major league team with controllable players unlike the Cubs

If the Cubs won 71 games after trading 9 MLB players in season and having many of the ones left get hurt they will easily win that much in 2022.

The Cubs are waiting out the overpay market spending 18M so far this winter on a good SP off waivers and improving the bench with a massive need of back up catcher after having to use 8 of them last year. When things open back up and players are in a rush to find a job and sure PT for 2022 the Cubs will be sitting on the largest amount of money and will have roster spots while also having the ability to drop a massive long term deal many teams will not be able to make.

Teams will be allowed to talk trade during the lockout so the Cubs should be one of the most active teams since they can take back bad contacts for prospects, as well as look to send some prospects out for MLB players and could end up moving a Contreras and get back a big league player and prospects.

The Cardinals are a mediocre team who had one lucky win streak and played .500 in the other 146 they played this year and the Cubs are the team who had been in first place more recently.

I love that the Cubs got bad returns for their core last year. It's so pleasing!
