OH H E L L NO OR

There is no comparison whatsoever, JJW is a vastly superior hitter to the Donger.
Check Wong's stats.
No need to since there's no comparison whatsoever, JJW is the vastly superior hitter.
He hasn't proven it yet. What's wrong with checking stats?
C'mon sir

He's had an outstanding start to his rookie season, 2.3 bWAR in his first 45 GP is outstanding!

So is his .356 OB%........8 HR's..........5 SB's............33 Runs Scored...........+7 DRS (#2 in MLB)!

Donger was a .249 .292 .388 .680 hitter his first full season, re: MEDIOCRE.

The only comp between the two is fielding, JJW is the vastly superior hitter.
"JJW is the vastly superior hitter". I'd feel much better about your claim if Wetherholt's BA was closer to .280.
Not the most relevant stat to judge a hitter, guess that .56 OB% and near .800 OPS are meaningless.
To be considered an outstanding hitter. Why not have an impressive BA, too?

He did have a good game. He hit a homer. The error on the throw that went right through his glove kinda taints it.
"taints it" is weak. But understandable coming from you. I think it's best to "Add foe" you and your nonsense.

Cherry pick all you want. Wetherholt > Burleson at baseball.

Burleson wins at batting average (for now).

Wetherholt wins at home run power, OBP, speed, base running, glove, hitting LH pitching, and arm. And several years younger with much less experience in the minors and majors. Just wait until you see the difference in the contracts they receive.
Wetherholt was labeled the top player in the draft. He should be a lot better and have larger future contracts than than Burleson. You are going to have to try harder to slam Burleson. He's a fabulous St Louis Cardinals player no matter who he's compared to.

If Burly's traded now
He'd take away the very heart of Shady
Oooooooh Burly please don't go
A love like Shady's is love that's hard to find
How could they let it slip away?........

I would be pretty shocked if JJW's avg is not well north of .233 by season's end. Kid is a player. He is one of the top few defensive second basemen in the game right now. He has 9 dingers, has scored 35 runs, has 24 rbi out of the leadoff spot, his avg is back up to .239 and his ops is back up to .782... It seems like he is just getting his feet wet. He and Walker are a huge reason this team is pretty good..... This kid can play the game.... He can hit .240 for all I care if he continues to put up those sort of numbers. He is often in the middle of things on offense or D. Color me impressed. No, he isn't Albert, but this kid is really good. My guess is his OPS will be around .800. With gold glove calibre D. I am good with that.

Don't listen to the noise.

JJ's stats are really good for a rookie. ESPN has him at 31 HR, 83 RBIs and 86 walks.

In other words, JJ hits for power and walks. It will be hard for him to keep an OPS under .775...

I agree. Wetherholt is a tremendous baseball player. The Cardinals are fortunate to have him. He's a catalyst on offense and extremely steady on defense. There's a a lot to like.

Sit back and enjoy the ride Shady....JJW is going to show you he has superior bat to ball skills than Burly...you can already see who is clearly the better all around player and the more valuable player....so no need to even discuss that...why can't you just be glad the birds have both...

Yes, I have been watching and playing ball for well over 60 years. There are kids who have the "IT" factor. This kid has it...... plays like a veteran. He will figure out this league and hit even better than he has already. The D has surprised me. I expected him to be pretty good. I didn't expect him to be this good. He and Winn make a really strong middle IF combo.....

Yeah, it just sucks that we are forced to watch this kid play every day:) Constantly down 0-2 to end up 3-2 in most ABs.....

The one thing that absolutely stuck out to me is:

Less than 30% of the season has been played so far, and Wetherholt is more than halfway to our previous lead off hitter’s career high in RBI’s.

I guess leadoff guys can actually drive in runs after all.
