Well, after talking with Bloom at a Spring game, I know why Pages is catching. That’s who Oli wants!
Bloom said they were going to give Herrera a chance, but his injuries were hindering him from getting much time there this Spring.
I asked about Crooks, and why he was sent out so early. Basically, he said because of Herrera, and them keeping Pozo, there wasn’t enough playing time to go around. I argued for Crooks, and Bloom agreed that Jimmy is a throw back type of player, and that his time will likely come, but not now. It pretty much goes to what Oli wants and Bloom is letting him have his way, for now. That’s just my opinion, not anything Bloom said directly.
While we were talking about Crooks, Nathan Church got a base hit, then stole 2nd base. In the next inning, Church threw a runner out at the plate. Bloom commented on Church, said that he thought Nathan was going to help the team in a lot of ways. I knew right then that Church was going to make the team.

Untwist the panties, 2 games in
5th

I guess someone had to be 5th, doesn't make him a clean-up hitter in any managers lineup other than your pal Oli.
Again, 2 of the top 5 no longer on the team and it was better than Hurdy Gurdy

51 (Winn) to 50 (Donny)

and of course - Winn played 11 more games and had 31 more AB. Winn had a .363 SLG which in no way should = a clean up spot in the lineup.

Ringing double for Walker leading off the 3rd, but Pages cannot advance him to 3rd.

BINGO

I've said the same hoosier, Pages is an "Oli guy".

And I've heard the same about N. Church that C. Bloom is very high on him and thinks there's a lot more there than we saw in 2025.

WAlker scores as VSII's speed forces another error

Joined late. An outfielder catches the ball that Saggese didn’t. Easy play by any outfielder. It’s sickening to watch players play out a position all the time.

When he called time out with two strikes I thought uh oh that’s what he always did with two strikes last season before he struck out then nope a double!

Oli's going to stick w/Winn at clean-up (0 RBI's---.111 .111 .222 .333) no matter how clueless it makes him look, the definition of insanity. ::crazya::

GO CARDS!
Oli has 5 players to choose from for cleanup .

JJ leadoff, he wants Herrera , and Burly 2 & 3 as you want your best hitters to potentially get to the plates the most times so he won't mess with that trio .. then Scott is locked in at 9 only.
So today that leaves Saggese , Pages, Walker, Urias , and Winn as his choices for the 4th spot. Winn is no sure thing but Oli must feel that the other 4 aren't a better threat from that group.
I'd say K. Cash is a pretty sharp Manager, one of the best in MLB for a long time.

His best hitter, where has he been batting?

J. Caminero----clean-up.

Herrera in the #2 is a waste (and please, don't regurgitate that stupid theory about the best hitter batting 2nd, teams like the Angels have used this stupid move and wasted a great talent like M. Trout's career), he needs to be hitting clean-up.

Wasting Herrera's RBI potential (least we forget he's got J. Walker, P. Pages and VSII setting the table  ahead of him along w/one good hitter in JJW) in the two hole to get a handful more PA's is stupid.
And yet a genius manager has been outmaneuvered to the tune of at the least a series loss to the Cards.
