GDT: Preseason Final Blues vs Hawks

I don’t know if Lucic can go to the minors, but I’d like to see him start there to get in better hockey shape. He will have a very limited role on the Blues. He’ll play against the Tom Wilsons and other teams who might want to take liberties with guys like Snuggy and Thomas. Maybe 30-35 games.

Yeah. He played responsibly, the hustle is there,but he’s lumbering. Skates like a beer leager. An AHL conditioning stint seems likely the best option, if he’s kept. Was at the U enter tonight, have to say for a prospect-heavy roster, these guys looked truly sharpish.

I agree that he lumbers. He also loses the puck along the boards pretty easily. When he starts to intimidate guys and physically punish players then he will have a role. He's hasn't done that yet. Guys aren't shying away from him. We all want to see a physical presence, but it's one thing to see it and another thing to imagine it because we want it to see it. Joseph has been a bigger physical presence this preseason. You have to be able to get there.

Fair play to Looch - he looked like Phil Espo on that redirect from Mailloux - knocked the defender into the goalie, screened them both, and tipped it in off his nuts. That ain’t bad…
