With Graceffo, Mautz, Winquest, and Rincon they
are creating a group of multiple inning relief guys that
should help the SP's on fumes and limits.

Crooks has a lot value. He is a decent catcher, has had only 150 AB this year and has WRC+ of 79 ( and much better recently). He is a power LH bat that can catch and has hit well throughout his minor league. Too soon to give up

C'mon TTT how does a guy with a .168 .231 .313 .544 slash over 200 MLB PA's and who's "meh" defensive have "a lot of value"?

He's not a "decent" catcher and he's shown no real power (only 6 HR's in those 200 PA's).

He has NO FUTURE here and it's not too soon to give up on him.

Bernal is vastly better defensively (minor league Gold Glove winner), likely a better hitter and of course R.R. is steaming towards St. Louis.

I'd dump Crooks this winter on anyone who'd take him, he'll never be missed.

While Crooks has not been impressive with his catching so far, he was considered a 60/60 ( Field/throw) grade in the minors. He still has 79 WRC+. In the last 10 games he has .226/.360/.371 for .721 OPS . I think that is reasonable progress.

I got curious earlier thinking about the Cal Raleigh 2025 comp with Crooks. Does Crooks have that kind of potential in him? I went back and looked but Crooks just never really showed that type of slug in the minors. Yeah he's a power hitter but I see he hit 12, 14, 13 homer seasons, albeit with higher walk totals. Raleigh was showing 30 homer power in the minors.

A good showing in Memphis this year with the bat, good slashline. It could mean something. 13 homers though. Josh Baez had 34, if you're looking for a prolific full season performance that really instills excitement.

I don't know I mean Crooks could certainly become something. I would certainly be OK with keeping Crooks instead of Pages into 2027 as a backup.

When R.Rodriguez gets here. Even if he is playing 3B, I would still like to prioritize getting RR starts behind the plate also to keep him active as a Catcher. That would cut into Crooks's starts for sure.

This may be an opportunity to trade Crooks for a third base prospect or a young player for the bp.

Until Rainiel shows up Bernal should be the Catcher with Herrera as backup. End the Pages and Crooks experiments.

Splitting what little time is left between
the two players would IMO be a bad call up for
Bernal and little benefit to Crooks.
