He's had an outstanding start to his rookie season, 2.3 bWAR in his first 45 GP is outstanding!
So is his .356 OB%........8 HR's..........5 SB's............33 Runs Scored...........+7 DRS (#2 in MLB)!
Donger was a .249 .292 .388 .680 hitter his first full season, re: MEDIOCRE.
The only comp between the two is fielding, JJW is the vastly superior hitter.

Not the most relevant stat to judge a hitter, guess that .56 OB% and near .800 OPS are meaningless.Shady wrote: ↑19 May 2026 13:59 pm"JJW is the vastly superior hitter". To be considered an outstanding hitter. If someone wants to see how well a high strike out rate low average translates to the majors take a look at how well Spencer jones is doing for the Yankees. That’s how Baez would look if called up and jones was hitting a lot better then Baez at AAA it just goes to show if you can’t make contact with minor league pitching you will be helpless in the majorsgreyhawk wrote: ↑19 May 2026 14:53 pmJust not when it comes to Baez's stats at AAA?Shady wrote: ↑19 May 2026 14:18 pmTo be considered an outstanding hitter. I'm not saying Wetherholt is not a fine talent. I'm glad he's a Cardinal. I'm just disappointed in his current batting average. Kind of like I'm disappointed in Burleson's current BA vs LHP. And Baez' high K rate.

2 for 4 with a home run, 2 RBI, 2 runs, a walk. This game is dedicated to the “Wetherholt’s BA is .233” crowd.
Our leadoff hitter has more HRs than our 3rd hitter.

Burleson had a monster game. Whether you lightweights acknowledge it or not.

"taints it" is weak. But understandable coming from you. I think it's best to "Add foe" you and your nonsense.kscardsfan wrote: ↑19 May 2026 22:25 pmHe did have a good game. He hit a homer. The error on the throw that went right through his glove kinda taints it.

Re: Wetherholt's BA is .233
Cherry pick all you want. Wetherholt > Burleson at baseball.
Burleson wins at batting average (for now).
Wetherholt wins at home run power, OBP, speed, base running, glove, hitting LH pitching, and arm. And several years younger with much less experience in the minors and majors. Just wait until you see the difference in the contracts they receive.
