Have yourself a day Joshua Baez! He’s going to make it tempting to promote him to AAA if he keeps it up.
They're sure going to have to adjust the prospect rankings. Baez is not on the Cardinals top 30 list.
Yea, he had fallen out. I’d have to believe his play has gotten himself back in the back end of the top 10. Although our 5th pick will likely also be in that mix, too. This team’s prospect depth looks a lot better now than pre-season.
and a few middling prospects, including Nathan Church should get into the Top 15, if not Top 10. And the next few weeks should be interesting for Padilla. He's hitting a bit better now, and is swiping every single base that's free. BA and MLBpipeline love a very young SS that is fast, great glove, good arm, and that starts to show some hitting progress...they love that type of prospect more than any other. I think he'll rank Top 4, if not Top 3 in our organization when the ratings adjustments come out Post Draft....if he continues to improve on the hitting.
I also look for Honeyman to move up a little bit if he can stay healthy. Deniel Ortiz hits EVERYTHING hard, he has to crack the Top 30, imo. Rodriguez will land Top 8, I believe. Gazdar is a surprise hitter for Peoria. Nothing but Singles for him, but that hit tool has to be 60...if they give an honest grade for him.
As for the other way around.... Hjerpe will leave the Top 10, imo.
it has been a long time since we had a slew of 40/45 grade prospects in the system....legit ones. We've been top heavy before with nothing behind them...IE: Gorman, Walker, Burleson days a few years back. Having Mathews, JJ, Bernal, Roby, Hence with a good group behind them is a plus-plus, imo
