156 pitches. I watched that game live, and it was pretty gut-wrenching from about the 7th inning on. He had 130 pitches entering the 9th.craviduce wrote: ↑07 Jun 2025 22:02 pmwhat was that? 150ish? Liam Doyle is very talented but also quite volatile on the mound. Eariler in the year , he called opposing batter a 'effing [kittycat]' during his at batAday96 wrote: ↑08 Jun 2025 16:31 pm Didn't get to watch, but Doyle got lit up in a must win at Arkansas. Out of the three lefties, Arnold has looked the best in the postseason so far. I keep going back and forth who would be the best option for the cards at 5. Seems like a crapshoot at the top of the draft this year.
Who is this seasons Jackson?Monsieur De Treville wrote: ↑08 Jun 2025 17:01 pm Should the Cards draft for need or the grab their highest rated player. Well, here's a warning to think about...
June 7 1966... to select Reggie Jackson or not, that is the question facing the New York Mets, who have the first pick in the free-agent draft. The Mets did not!
Instead the Mets choose Steve Chilcott, a catcher for Antelope Valley High School in Lancaster, California. Chilcott hit .500 with 11 homers and 38 RBI in 25 games as a senior and impressed Mets manager Casey Stengel.
“It was a position pick," said Joe McDonald, who is in the Mets' front office at the time. "We did not feel that we had an adequate catching prospect in the organization."
Chilcott's career will be plagued by injuries and he will never reach the majors! Over a seven-year minor league career, he will play only 331 games before being released by the Yankees in 1972.
Jackson, a sophomore outfielder with Arizona State is picked second overall by the Kansas City Athletics. Reggie will go on to hit 563 home runs in a Hall of Fame career and become Mr October.
Food for thought....

Holliday, if so, yes that would be a shame on the
Cardinals if they passed on him.
I like Doyle's fire, sort of reminds me of the Chris Carpenter attitude. However, he does seem to be a bit much at times. There is a fine line between Carpenter's competitive fire and being over the top and difficult like a Trevor Bauer. Hopefully he can keep it in check just a little. just a little, as i do like some personalityramfandan wrote: ↑08 Jun 2025 16:54 pmLiam Doyle is very talented but also quite volatile on the mound. (because the batter called a timeout ). Doyle gets ticked when batters do that vs. him . He had another incident swearing at a batter too.
Doyle's grandma was none to happy .. called him and let him know it

Whoever drafts him gets a ultra competitive type guy but they also are getting a pretty wild guy too . Wonder if some teams will not want to deal with that part of his personality . Will be interesting to see where he gets selected .
