Which kept Mabry with the Cardinals until Bobby returned and Mabry went to AAA.

On this date in 1996, the Cardinals traded four players to Oakland to acquire starting pitcher Todd Stottlemyre. That season, Stottlemyre went 14-11 with a 3.87 ERA, struck out 194 batters, and helped the team reach the NLCS.

Four prospects, none of which amounted to anything. Stotts gave us 2/5 solid seasons and was flipped for Fernando Tatis.

Did Glaus have surgery against the Cardinals wishes? Should he have waited until the end of the 2nd season?
