I'm also now making one of my Yahoo Top 5 ROS catchers (O'Hoppe - 163 overall, 4th among C; Fry - 172 overall, 5th among C) available for trade.
Yahoo appears to have Rutschman, W. Smith, William Contreras, O'Hoppe, and Fry as their 1st through 5th among catchers over remaining games.
I could use a catcher to back up/platoon w/ Campusano until Realmuto gets back, but…
Campusano - Yahoo ROS ranking 397 (only 204 AB proj. because of his platoon) and Realmuto 346 (only 202 AB proj. because of his injury)
And you are -12 starts at catcher.

Yes, but I’m not likely to offer much for a catcher you’re apparently touting as “top 5” when I’d rather have Realmuto after the ASB. I might rather wait until you drop one of them, like you did with Jackson Merrill shortly after you declared him a “solid .840 OPS” hitter.

I'm definitely not just dropping either O'Hoppe or Fry.

Don’t bother asking for Schwellenbach or Schneemann.
What would you think of shortening the wait time on trades by a day?

I think reducing it by a day would be fine.
I was also going to suggest thinking about substituting OBP for BA next year. As it is, it seems like singles (which contribute to BA, OBP, and SLG (hence twice to OPS) are worth inordinately more than walks (which only contribute to the OBP part of OPS). Singles get like triple counted and walks get single counted, it seems.

Hits are more valuable than walks. Maybe if we were to drop AVG (and I’d have no objection to that) it could be replaced with Hits?

Maybe - but I think the use of two rate stats (AVG/OPS and ERA/WHIP) on each side (hitting/pitching) makes sense.
If you use OBP instead of AVG, you would still be counting singles (OBP and (OBP, SLG) within OPS) three times and walks (OBP and OBP within OPS) twice. So any hit would be more valuable than a walk.

You’d be counting walks twice w/ OBA & OPS and the only difference between a single & walk would be reflected in a nominal increase in the SLG element of OPS. Me no likey. I wouldn’t mind experimenting w/ all cumulative stats, but we’d undoubtedly have difficulty getting everyone to agree on that.
Anyway, I’m probably going to reduce the wait period by a day after the current trades are processed. My initial thought was to allow more time for vetoes in the interest of fairness, but apparently that was pointless.

Average >>>> OBP for fantasy and OPS gives value to guys who walk more.
Average also stays true to original Roto which I prefer

That's correct - but because singles do contribute to the SLG component of OPS and walks do not, that roughly reflects how much more valuable singles are than walks in reality.
By linear weights, singles are about 50% more important than walks. So counting a single three times (OBP, OBP, SLG) vs. a walk two times (OBP, OBP) is about right.

Yeah, I do like preserving the traditional 5x5 roto categories. Had a league many years ago that dropped AVG and HR, but added H and OPS… that was interesting, and nobody was scarred for life. But moving forward with this league, think I’d prefer to add, rather than subtract or replace categories.

BTW - in trying to craft trades, it appears that you cannot trade player on IL for player on IL without each team having an open roster spot for them to land first. At least that was what I was taking away from the error I kept getting when I tried to make a counteroffer to a trade proposal just now.

What error?
You should be able to counteroffer w/ anything. If the receiving team does not have enough roster spots, they will be asked to drop a player as a condition of accepting the trade.
Typically the only times you get an error message from Yahoo are a) you’re trying to trade a player that’s already scheduled to be dropped, or b) you have a player that needs to be moved off of the IL.
