At the very least, he could have tried to recruit a few European players to Mizzou.
Look how successful Underwood is recruiting overseas players.
Gates had nothing to lose to at least try to get a talented European player.
Gates falls in love with players like Mack because he remembers him from Chicago.
And Jevon Porter will be good at Mizzou because he will be like his brother Michael.

I even noticed that Todd Golden (Florida coach) recruited overseas players like Alex Condon (Australia).
Golden goes outside the US and finds Alex Condon but Gates falls in love with players from his hometown Chicago.

I was cracking jokes about the Underwood and the Ilini but they just beat Mizzou by 43 points.

I remember how the 'in the know' posters here and at RMN and TB poo poohed Underwood - I believe he even interviewed. Give Underwood and IL credit - they have gone outside the box of conventional thinking with these Euro Pro's - they are a solid E8 team IMHO. I think IL may be setting a new trend in this whore-like era of NIL & Portal.
