Cards need to go get Coby Mayo.
They don't need catchers, or any position players really. If you want to match up with them you have to go with pitching. Who do you have that they would want and you would be willing to trade? It has to be both. The group of pitchers I could see the Cardinals could part with are Jojo Romero, Andre Pallante, Pete Hansen, and maybe one of Brycen Mautz or Ixan Henderson. Have I missed anyone? Or, maybe we could trade them Contreras and they could have a 5 man rotation.
JoJo plus a minor league pitcher.
The Cardinals already have a Coby Mayo... he's named Jordan Walker. They should focus on trying to get more out of Walker.
I would try to acquire him. I think a new team might be what he needs. Dude is young with lots of potential.

Same for Walker, perhaps minus the potential lol.
In your view, why does Mayo have potential but Walker doesn’t?
Seen Walker in person a lot. JMO, but I don't think he is as near athletic as people think. Yes, the dude is a mountain of a man....but, I personally think he is somewhat "duck footed" and doesn't move that well. People say he has great speed. Haven't seen it. If you look at a lot of still photos of his swing, he looks extremely awkward in almost 100% of them. Always dow on a knee, ankles rolled awkwardly. I've never seen such a hyped young player look so awkward at basic baseball things.

I really hope I am wrong and he becomes what everyone hopes. I am rooting for him. I just haven't seen it.
So then Coby Mayo, a large dude in his own right, who is likely limited to 1B... has more potential, why exactly? Ya kinda skipped the question.
Mayo, who struggled somewhat in limited time last year in Baltimore, still shows a lot of promise. Would like to see his Ks come down and his avg./obp. go up. He still managed 11 HRs in about half a season worth of ABs. I could easily see that improving to 25+ HR potential with some improvements and a full season.
He hasn't had as many opportunities as Walker has and I think he shows more potential than Walker. Of course, this is all opinion. Would love to get him and find out AND for Walker to surprise!

Yeah, most likely.

Romero and Ixan Henderson?
I would, I don’t think they would. More likely one of the Marlins pitchers like Cabrera. I think they’ll want someone who can step right into their rotation.

Probably right. The only guy we have to offer for that is probably Quinn Mathews and I wouldn't do that.
