m If the Cardinals are in a rebuild why in the world would they want to trade for a 33 year old whose play has been declining? Arenado is far better than Castellanos.

This is so funny. Cardinals are better off trading NA for NOTHING. Castellanos is a net negative to this team. If PHI wants NA and no one offers anything give him to them and save that money plus open the spot to audition players.
The money saved alone could be allocated to some bounce back candidate free agents who might return a decent prospect at the break. There is NO scenario where Castellanos adds to this club.

Why would the Phillies trade for a declining player?Vinegar Ben wrote: ↑01 Nov 2025 07:35 am m If the Cardinals are in a rebuild why in the world would they want to trade for a 33 year old whose play has been declining? Arenado is far better than Castellanos.

My perfect thoughts told me I should marry Erika Eleniak in her prime (Baywatch & Jumping out of the cake in Under Siege), but looking back on that decision today it seems I upgraded with my wife.ecleme22 wrote: ↑31 Oct 2025 15:02 pmMy thoughts are in a perfect scenario, he’s flipped at the TDL.Basil Shabazz wrote: ↑31 Oct 2025 13:02 pm At least we can agree that they both "played" the OF and were not remotely good at it.
The point makes no sense. If you want a decent-hitting, poor-fielding LF, then you have Burleson.
Now, if you can unload Nado and his salary by taking Castellanos and then flip Castellanos, then I can see that. But that probably isn't happening.
Thus, in a season where .500 ball would be a success, I'd probably keep the GG 3B defense and average bat over the porous LF defense and average bat.
