Hopefully Bloom is given free reign to carry out his plans.rockondlouie wrote: ↑02 Oct 2025 08:49 amYepJuanAgosto wrote: ↑01 Oct 2025 20:19 pmProbably the correct move for 2026. John Mozeliak cocked up this organization so much that a desirable manager would have an interest right now. Hopefully, Bloom can improve the roster and vision of the future to entice a solid candidate next year.rockondlouie wrote: ↑01 Oct 2025 13:29 pmHe's definitely not much of "teacher" at this level, can't think of a player he's helped make better (you'd have to credit Brown for Burleson's assent at the plate).JuanAgosto wrote: ↑01 Oct 2025 12:25 pmBut people on here claim oli is a good teacher. And has the respect of the clubhouse.rockondlouie wrote: ↑01 Oct 2025 10:13 amIMO icon those young players (Gorman, Walker, Scott, etal) are a bi-product of Mo's horrible minor league player development system.icon wrote: ↑01 Oct 2025 09:18 amI'm not so sure Marmol is the guy to be nurturing young players. Look at Gorman, Scott and Walker. And has Noot gotten better as he has aged out of his youth under Oli? And what about Pallante?rockondlouie wrote: ↑01 Oct 2025 08:53 am BDWJr knows he's not putting much (if any) real money into the 2026 team so this was pretty easy to see coming.
At his core Oli is a minor league manager, better at nurturing young players than he is managing major leaguers.
So him staying makes sense given we could see more young players filtering up through the system to St. Louis.
JMO, but I think C. Bloom will be scouting his managerial candidates, making a list and will hiring his guy after the 2026 season.
I think it's a mistake not to have your guy in place from the beginning to instill the winning culture in these young players that you want to be instilled.
I put the blame for their failures on the entire system, including Oli who didn't do anything to help them.
Noot is a mystery, aside from the obvious (injuries) he's still a stat cast favorite and why he regressed in 2025 is a mystery.
Trust me, I'm NOT AN OLI FAN and have been calling for him to be fired since he e f f e d up Game 1 of the Phillies series!
But I also knew what BDWJr was going to do and it makes sense to have him cheerleading the young players who come up in 2026 (and have had the benefit of C. Bloom's system he began putting in place in 2024).![]()
He should've been canned two years ago. But Mozeliak wasn't serious about winning anything. And DeWitt was busy counting money.
I'd have fired him after that Phillies Game 1 debacle, he showed there he didn't have the chops to be a major league manager.
And he's shown little to no growth, outside of bullpen management.
JMO, but I think C. Bloom gets to hire his guy in 2027.
BDWJr made this call, wasn't going to pay Oli to sit on his a z z in a 2026 throwaway season.
Given BDWJr see's 2026 as a throwaway season before the new CBA is negotiated.
Mo left Bloom a massive mess.
He's already cleaned up the minor league system, now the work begins on the ML roster.
I trust Bloom, he made some very smart trades in Boston (re: TGKS) and I hope he does that this winter too!
My dream get is K. Cash, trade the Rays Gorman or Walker for him.![]()

Re: They keep Oli and
How do you have any opinion how Oli managed this season if you watched two games?
