Serious lack of team speed. Glaring!!! It's like we have a team on Molina's.

Especially compared to the Brewers.

It looks like the Cards play in slow motion.

Does no one pay attention in the outfield

WTF! Lazy fly balls to the outfield shouldn’t be such an adventure. Why the stubbornness to get called off of the baseball.

Nothing new there .. that has been discussed the past couple years . With Arenado and Contreras in the lineup , it is even slower.

It's pretty amazing watching these guys bumble their way through a ball game. This is the kind of thing you see watching minor leaguers, at this level you just expect more.

That last play was because Church isn't taking control 'calling off' Noot . CF calls the catches and he isn't taking charge on that ball .
He is deferring to Noot as he is a veteran and that is wrong. Watch the replay.. Church is not yelling MINE MINE

Church needs to take charge out there. He isn't doing it . He has done the same thing with Walker a few times too. He may be the new kid on the block but he must take control as the CF regardless who is playing the corner spots.

I thought Noot said "on me" after the catch but you may be right. This is something that someone (oh, maybe the manager?) should get straightened out, like real quick.

I watched the replay. I could see Church moving his mouth. Nootbaar just wasn’t giving up the fly ball. Church is a capable CF and did call for the fly ball but Nootbaar wasn’t deferring to the kid CF. You could tell from the look Nootbaar gave Church that he wasn’t being called off of that fly ball. That’s an issue. Just like the earlier play. Walker was calling for the ball and Fermin didn’t give up on catching it.

It just makes you wonder what the heck were they thinking when they put this team together. The deficiencies are glaring, no power, no speed, no plate discipline, not even guys who get extra base hits. You can win without power, but you can't have a bunch of slow, plodding, light hitting, strike out guys, and that's what we have. Add in lousy pitching and you have our current team. It's going to be years before we field a team with any hope of contending

Yeah, posters who claim this team can be turned around quickly must think ol' Bill is gonna suddenly decide he wants to win another WS before he goes to that big boardroom in the sky. After Moe wasting money for years, they've gone cheap and I don't see that changing. I hope I'm wrong but they're gonna have to show me.

Actually, the manager has a coach Jon Jay , who is in charge of the OF's .. That is his Jay's responsibility . Oli needs to get on Jay's butt and tell him to work that out. Oli doesn't need to micro manage the team. Jay isn't getting the job done if this continues.

CT thinks Oli reviews video replays during the games and makes each and every challenge call all by himself. So of course they don't understand what a coach does and what a manager does.

In fairness, I do think Jon Jay had done a good job with outfielders getting good jumps on the ball and proper angles of running to the spot. I believe that Pops Warner is in charge of base running (if so , that is an area of need on this team ). Overall, I have never been big fan of Pops at 3rd base. Think he is not very aggressive. Of course, he does have some slowpokes he is leary to waive home on usual scoring singles as they will get thrown out by several feet instead of scoring. So he is gun shy a lot in sending guys.
