You know Mo ybit

Here comes that middle RP no one ever heard of.
Or a TOR SP from 2015, who’s now aging and on his last leg.
He's soooooooooooo predictable, can't wait for him to be gone (and take Oli w/him).
As a Cards fan, there are a few problems with having expectations at the trade deadline.

1) Mo is lazy, arrogant and stubborn. These are poor qualities for a POBO to have at the trade deadline (or anytime really).
2) Our talent surplus is thin. We have extra LH outfielders, catchers and middle infielders. None of them, except Donovan, Winn and Wetherholt is an all star or appears to be on that career arc.
3) Being a trade deadline buyer when you are five or more players away from competing in the post season is just plain irresponsible. You will spend money and talent only to fall short, and then you'll be further behind next year.
You forgot scared- Mo is scared. He is afraid to take a position and afraid to make a mistake.

Yep. You are right. Mo is driven by fear. I have found that most professional fear is based in not doing everything we can do to succeed. When we are lazy, it scares us.

1) Yep
2) Yep
3) Yep w/a caveat if they would let Bloom trade for quality and not Mo for rentals.

They have players to trade Helsley Maton Nootbar Walker Gorman are all redundant peices or pending FA.

Of course I would trade the pending free agents, including Helsley. Let's also try to unload Nado. I'm not sure the rest that you list would bring a better return than replacement level players. I just don't want to be a trade deadline buyer, meaning trading off our prospects for short-term fixes to make a 2025 playoff run. That would be irresponsible.

Don't expect much if Mo is pulling the strings. Odds are he is currently formulating one last excuse for being inactive.

Or, he is plotting one last pitiful deadline deal. Will be hard to top last year's [censored].
