I can’t believe I’m going to say this and I’ll probably deny it later, but I’m becoming a big Brad Marchand fan! He has been playing like he’s in his early 20’s, and has easily been one of Florida’s best and most dangerous players.

Blues had a watch party on Clark plus 20k at Busch.

No fan here but can't deny what a good pick up he's been for the Panthers.

Edmonton had more chances, but Florida had some amazing opportunities.
I’m pulling Edmonton in the series and that’s what makes the game more interesting when you actually pull for a team.
I’m just tired of Florida winning
They’ve only won once

If so, what was he supposed to not shoot the puck as hard on Bob?

Oh-I heard his name coming back with Marshand
Yeah he badly misread the play coming back at him and got burned by Marchand. Draisaitl was almost able to bail him out but couldn’t quite get there.
I don’t watch a fraction of the games some of the posters here see, but it was evident in last years final series. He does not make consistent great reads and his unforced errors are baffling, especially from a player with his massive physical gifts. No one has made much sf a fuss about it publicly, but plays like this must be putting the Oil in a position of doubt about the value of his next contract.

This was posted on ESPN’s website after the game.

Players to watch in Game 3

Evan Bouchard
D, Oilers

Bouchard's Game 2 performance adds to a tricky conversation facing the Oilers once they reach the offseason. But there'll be more on that shortly. Game 2 was his seventh multipoint performance, and also the second time this postseason he finished with three points in a single game.

Here's where the nuance comes into play. Bouchard was involved in all but one of the Oilers' goals. If not for Connor McDavid, he would have led them with 34:29 in ice time, which is slightly more than three "SpongeBob" episodes. Receiving that much ice time further cements the trust he has gained from Oilers coach Kris Knoblauch. However, Bouchard was also on the ice for three goals against, including both of Marchand's breakaways, while being assessed for a pair of cross-checking penalties.

There's still more to be said about how this postseason ends for the Oilers and Bouchard. But when it does, the two sides will need to agree on a new contract for the standout blueliner. Already on a bridge deal, he's a pending restricted free agent who appears in line to earn a significant raise from the $4.3 million salary he has earned the past two seasons. How will his play in the rest of the series influence those conversations?

Ha! I knew I would be hearing from you! Talk about the perfect acquisition for that team. If you saw the post-game interview with him, he made it clear that he was injured but now he is healthy…..and it shows. I think a lot of the Florida players are hurt and not playing particularly well (Tkachuk and Reinhart to name a couple), so Marchand couldn’t be doing this at a better time.

Either he has matured or I have gotten used to him. No doubt he brings a needed element to FLA. Plus we will always have that shot of him crying after game 7.

I didn't like it either. Bennett looked down to see where he was falling, then throw all his weight onto the hip that went down on Skinners leg.
A [shirt] dirt move and a intent to injure. This type of play should come with a suspension, not a high five from karma's next/last victim.

It is amazing,ain't it?
The amount of elite skill combined with the coldest-blooded treachery in crucial moments in the Stanley Cup Finals. It's like chess with baseball bats and shivs.

This video shows it all. Bennett turns his skates sharply as he is being checked. Look at the expressions on his and Tkachuk's faces in the penalty box in the freeze frame when it ends. They know what they are doing. They weren't even arguing.
Amazingly talented and treacherous Stanley Cup Champions.

If I staffed a hockey team, my first hire would be a top5 mike tyson guard dog. He wouldnt even have to know how to skate.

They also had to watch their team for decades afterwards fail to do anything past the first round and be perennial cellar dwellers that brought them first overalls like Nail Yakopov. Yeah Jack, they have suffered through a lot. Oh and Jack take a look at those fans outside of that building, did you notice how few of them would have been alive to see the people you mentioned? Oh and you forgot Paul Coffey.
I'm not going to tell you whether or not you should feel sorry for a fan base, that's completely up to you.

Since just the 2000's the Edmonton Oilers have been in as many Stanley Cup finals than the following teams combined:

The St. Louis Blues
The Washington Capitals
The Utah Mammoth
The Anaheim Ducks
The Toronto Maple Leafs (now there's a suffering base if there is one in any sport currently)
The New York Islanders
The Minnesota Wild
The Winnipeg Jets

Just throwing that out there. Yes I did forget about Coffey.
