HOUCARD wrote: 03 Jun 2025 13:37 pm I seriously suspect Bloom is calling the shots now. Mo, because of his long tenured service, was offered an honorary exit. DeWitt is honoring that. Mo is a figurehead. I've worked for many corporations and seen many senior loyal managers put out to pasture in a similar fashion.
There is no way on Gods green earth that a mentally competent owner/executive is going to have a young upcoming POBO under contract and let the old outgoing publicly suspect POBO call the shots that will impact the new guy going forward.
NOW I stated mentally competent Owner. That is TBD here after this chitshow the last couple years.
You mean the same owner who permitted his knucklehead POBO to hire 3 managers in a row who had nary a lick of managing experience and then claimed winning was important to the organization? Oh yeah, there is a way alright.
Yes….see my disclaimer….
Let’s say I’m the General Counsel of a mid-sized company and I want to hire a #2 person. Do I go to the local law school and pick out a recent grad? That’s crazy stuff, yet Moe did it 3 times. The insecure little pric k.
I almost guarantee Mo/BDW thought They were the reason for most of the success under TLR/Dunc/Pujols…..and the arrogant phucks ran off TLR and set on a plan to run everything from POBO box with puppet managers…..been saying this for years.
You are quite insane if you think Mozoliak had nothing to do with the successful years around the 2011 WS Championship. He drafted and traded smart.
He has faltered the past few seasons, to be sure, but two things can be true at once.
Presuming of course you can keep two thoughts in your head simultaneously.
Which based on your posts may not be possible, so there's that.
Read the post REAL slowly Paige…….didn’t mention anything about 2011 WS…..stated that MO/BDW thought they were the secret sauce to the great Cardinals run…..showed TLR the door…..and thought they could run the show from POBO box not needing a real manager….
Give him a break GF. After all, he met Satchel Paige.

Moe will be fighting the whole way. IMO it’ll be a power struggle until Moe is completely gone. He’s not some 72 year old retiree.

Bob Kunush wrote: 03 Jun 2025 19:42 pm So Mo has never been successful? Has never had anything yo do with the success?

Nobody is saying he's done a great job lately. My argument is with those who can't give him the credit he is due for an overall good career.
Those people are idiots. He was instrumental in the team’s success and the 2011 title. He deserves a red jacket.

He also deserved to be fired after 2023 or at a minimum 2024.
He has only 1 losing season.
Success in this market is not defined by simply not having a losing season.
Oh please!!
It’s not? You disagree with me? More importantly, you disagree with Bill DeWitt?

“In some places, winning is just a winning record, or even .500 is acceptable. Players have a nice season, go home, get back to their families and so forth. But not in this city, not with this franchise, not with its history, and not with our great fans.”
You're taking on three front office (donkey) kissers who have nothing better to do than support DeTwit and Mo-ran...and they are relentless

I always felt BDWJr would want C. Bloom making the decisions around the trading deadline since this will be his team going forward.

Made no sense to have Mo, other than in an advisory role, making future roster decisions that would affect the team after 2025.

Smart move handing the reins to Bloom earlier rather than waiting for seasons end. :D
It doesn’t sound like the trade deadline though, they’re talking August/September. I’m sure that Bloom will still have a major role in the deadline though.
I'd be willing to bet Bloom will have final say over any trading deadline moves w/Mo acting in an advisory role.

It would make absolutely no sense to allow Mo to deal a player or players that Bloom wants to keep or deal a player or players for prospects Bloom doesn't want.

It may not be advertised so as to honor Mo for his long time service but behind the scenes this is how I bet it goes down.

I was thibking Girsch the gm was heavily involved in those final decisions😂😂😂😂😂
Where is poor old Michael?

Talk about a guy being "GM" in name only, wow.
I think Girsch was in charge of buying the gold paint for the "Arenado seat".

Isn’t it amazing that Girsch could be scapegoated and moved into some meaningless job but there’s just no way we could let that happen to Mo? You know, the guy who was actually responsible?

MO is POBO
Girsch is VP of Special Projects (former GM)
Bloom is Special Adviser set to become POBO.

Who is the current GM? Is MO POBO and GM?
Actually , Mo is both .. his adjusted title Pres. Ops GM Ops ..acronym is POGO .... Fits perfectly as he bounces up and down between the two roles ! :D
