Interesting choice by the Astros. Smith wasn't the one I thought would've been the first. I thought Christian Moore or Nick Kurtz would be in the majors first.
College kid that actually did well in SSS of the Cubs org.
Still speaks more to Astros outfield than Smith after the move of Tucker.
Somebody has to catch the ball.
Altuve, Alvarez

Ball contact not going where we want it

Time to start aiming for liners right over the 3Bman's head and test their left field side

2nd guy gains 2nd base cuz VS2 threw to the wrong base
Was looking to see if Nado would holler to Saggese to ‘cut’ the throw. And get the runner at 2nd but Saggese did not
Comparable issue to last night, someone should have been shouting "home"
when Walker caught that fly.
With runner on 3rd , no need for anyone to yell to Walker ‘home’
If you are OF, you catch it and immediately throw to home plate.
You do NOT look in to see if runner is going or not. You never ever just hold the ball. Your only job is catch it and fire it to home asap.
Yes.

The execution of that play requires foresight and immediate action. Once released it’s up to cut off man and catcher as to let go thru or not. But that play starts as before the ball is in the air. In the mind.

Now where's the offense gone?

I'm late to this party and sure this has already been discussed. But unless they are nursing Gorman, what is the reason to not have him in the lineup against a RH starter? Let him eat, for Pete's sake.

Admiral Walkbaar escapes the TRAP again

sometimes....rarely....I wish we played at GABP. Today is one of those days. We might have the lead this inning.

------

I'm not 100% sure, but Saggese and Contreras probably had HR's there if they were in GABP

It's strategic, they know WilCON will never get a hit

Gorman should have that DH spot not him

3 walks issued by this nobody hurler, and the bats can't cash them in.

I remember Pena on 2B and the "catch" not happening.
Walker dove but didn't catch it, My bad for not typing almost before caught.
Regardless, I am one that thinks talking is good.

Another walk by Noot. His OBP must be close to .450.. The man gets on base, does his part offensively...

OF catching them today. Some days they get in the gap, others OF makes running catches.

What’s amazes me is how often teams can be better just by getting rid of certain players.
An argument can be made that we would be a lot better if we removed these three pieces from the roster.
Siani - AAA
Burleson - trade
Mikolas - DFA

Net result. W’ed see more of Gorman, Sagasse, Baker, Barrero and McGreevy.
