I do not think he will still be there at #5, but if he is I'd take Hernandez in a blink. That kind of upside doesn't usually present itself in our typical draft positions. Be interested in Duce's take on this though

Holliday will likely go to the Nationals. I'm hoping the next three teams, Angels, Mariners and Rockies) are looking for quicker help and go with the collegiate pitchers. Or a hitter or two. Maybe the Mariners will go with the collegiate hitter, Arquette, from their area.

I just re-read MLB.com's latest mock.
apparently Cards aren't interested at all in Seth Hernandez (see the part I put in red)
9. Reds: Seth Hernandez, RHP, Corona (Calif.) HS (No. 2)
This would be a great get for the Reds because Hernandez belongs much higher than this but has to deal with an industry skittish about spending early selections on high school righties. He could land with any of the clubs ahead of here except for the Cardinals and Blue Jays. If he's gone, Cincinnati could turn to Witherspoon or a prep shortstop. This is the ceiling for Texas A&M outfielder Jace LaViolette, who entered the season as the consensus top college bat but hit just .258 with a 25 percent strikeout rate.

I guess I'm a safety-first pick.
None of these pitchers excite me. I'm a Holliday or Willits guy and I'm reasonably certain Holliday will be gone by #5.
So the pick is Willits. 17 years old. Already 6'1" and he runs like a deer. Switch hitter. Could play any position on the infield or outfield. Elite bat to ball skills. Maybe he'll never be a big home run hitter, but who knows.
He's the pick. IMHO!

could be a winner of a pick
I love that he's a switch hitter

Added to his resume.. being son of major leaguer he had the pedigree ( like Holliday kids learned from his Dad all the nuances ) and read he has nonstop motor. This kid will give 100% every single play.
Nonstop motor types with his skillset are a dynamic duo.

How did Arquette do earlier in game? I started recording starting 5th inning.

Cincinnati getting Burns last year and Hernandez this year would be scary.
