I am not as skilled as you in this, but I view this as a top 7 and are consistent IMO that stand out to me. My top 2 are Holliday and Hernandez, but would be excited to get any of the top 6.craviduce wrote: ↑28 May 2025 17:35 pm MLB.com's updated Top 200 list. Their Top 10 looks close to ESPN's

around this time last year, the Top 8 on draft boards (the actual Top 7 with Braden Montgomery before his injury in the Regionals) graded 55/80 or better.TraveledLessRoad wrote: ↑29 May 2025 08:01 am For some reason, I'm not as excited about this draft as I was last year's, even with a better draft position. Some pundits put Arnold as the only 55 grade player. What this draft does have that last year and other before have is a swath of 40-45 grade college hitters/pitchers....and "not as raw" HS hitters that can be had later in rounds 2-5....One could be excited for rounds 2-5 or 2-10. Of course, we could have another theme draft and select all players under 5'11 with the exception of 1.

I agree, it's a weak draft up top. And Willits probably lands where you said. He's not a Konnor Griffin or Bryce Rainer, last years top Prep players taken the the Top 15.

I'm excited about 1, 2, 3, 5, 8...can be happy with 4, 6, 7. Very intrigued with 10, and his brother who'll likely go day 1 (Round 2 or 3). #9 is awesome, no doubt...the reliever risks and being asked to swallow that at #5 make no sense to me.Othawhitemeat wrote: ↑29 May 2025 08:48 amI am not as skilled as you in this, but I view this as a top 7 and are consistent IMO that stand out to me. I am putting my chips on Witherspoon. The Cardinals go back to not resisting a good College RHP.craviduce wrote: ↑29 May 2025 09:57 amI'm excited about 1, 2, 3, 5, 8...can be happy with 4, 6, 7. My trifecta bet would be Arnold, Arquette, and Witherspoon. Completely bypassing the HS players.
If they went HS, it would be Holiday then Hernandez. Neither will be there at #5

love Witherspoon, would love him in my Rotation... RHP is probably his only knock if we're being picky. Is there a real difference between Arnold and Anderson. Is one a tick better than the other if you had a choice of College LHP?craviduce wrote: ↑29 May 2025 10:37 amlove Witherspoon, would love him in my Rotation... Same. Seems hard to top Wetherholt, but even if we didn't snag him it seems like there was some pretty high end talent that we had a shot at. But who knows with these things.TraveledLessRoad wrote: ↑29 May 2025 08:01 am For some reason, I'm not as excited about this draft as I was last year's, even with a better draft position. I saw a recent mock with Holliday, Doyle, Anderson, Arquette going before the Cardinals pick at #5. If this would play out and Hernandez, Arnold and Willits still on the board. I feel the Cardinals would need to grab the high octane prep pitcher, Hernandez.

I agree. I also predict there is ZERO chance that he falls to 5. I know he's prep...but this boy is sick.
Re: 2025 MLB Draft Room ~ Thread, Mocks, Discussion, Draft Boards
It seems the Cardinals are going to have the opportunity to draft one of the top four pitchers in the draft. Hernandez, Arnold, Anderson or Doyle.
