I'm leaning towards the HS route for hitters if we must take a hitter. Willits would be more than fine...with me

If aiva arquette is there, I think the cardinals grab him. I just don’t think Seattle passes on him. He is exactly what they need and he plays in their backyard. My top five would go like this..
1. Nats- Holiday
2. Angels- Arnold
3. Seattle- Arquette
4. Rockies- Doyle
5. Cards- Seth Hernandez
In the second round, I hope they grab Sean Gamble. Kid is gonna be great

Aj Russel, mason Neville, JB Middleton, and Sean gamble are all guys I would target in the second round. Russel dropped because of injury’s, Neville and Middleton are lesser known prospects but are having great years. Sean gamble looks every bit as good at the top high school guys, but watch his interviews. The kid has that it factor. He has the personality of a big leaguer

Russell has legit stuff...trying to rebound from injury this year. Tigers have some great pitching this year.

trending is the Angels, Cards, Rockies targeting the 3 LHP pitchers (Arnold, Anderson, Doyle). Seeing more and more mocks putting the Nats at Holliday, Hernandez or Willits at #1. The Mariners take whatever the Nats don't take at #3.
Any love for Kyle Witherspoon at #5? I'm just looking for the college RHP Cardinal option.

The mlb scouting report on Witherspoon says 3 plus pitches not including an improving curve ball and an changeup that needs more work. There is "little effort" to his delivery.

https://www.mlb.com/milb/prospects/draft/

The report on Liam Doyle gave him 4 plus pitched but finished with "... an unorthodox delivery and constantly throws with maximum intent." I'm going pass on Doyle just based on that one sentence.

If Russell was healthy, we would be talking about him at pick 5.

Thanks all for the one CT draft thread worth coming back to.

Also thanks Craviduce for keeping tabs on Witherspoon here. I've got him circled on my list of candidates for the #5 pick.

Summerhill, Witherspoon, Bremner and Ike Irish are all creeping into contention for the #5.

I think Bremner is starting to become my favorite. He's shaking off the early season struggles and showing an elite changeup, plus fastball and at least above average slider. Also going deep into games. I think he might be my top college pitcher.

I wish I could get Irish' splits to show what his stats are in the OF vs C. I bet there is a stark difference. His season stats also got dinged by a broken hand on a hbp. Showing plus contact and power and has looked far more athletic the less catcher he's played this year.

I'm down on Arnold, Arquette and Doyle. Arnold just isn't showing any dominance like a top college pitcher should. Doyle is way too inconsistent with extreme reliever risk. And never been a fan of Arquette. I think he's getting way too much praise because he's coming from the same program as Bazzana. He wouldn't have been a top 20 pick last year.

ACC tournament happening this week.

#16 seed Cal has knocked off Miami and Wake Forest. They’ll be headed to the quarter finals to face one of the top 4. :D

Houston went 2 for 4 today for Wake Forest with 2 walks and 3 RBI
