Walker is a 6’6 250lb 23yrold specimen of a human…..apparently penciled as starting RF…..with many questions as to whether he can hit MLB pitching….and this manager has him scheduled to play every other day???
Because 3-4 AB’s in a Spring Training game is too taxing on a 23yr old body??
JW needs as many swings as he can get against MLB pitching, Cards manager is once again proven an idiot.
Some of you all are going to be deep into counseling before the All-Star break. Relax, it's a game.

They usually just put 2 or 3 big leaguers on the field this early to keep paying fans happy.
He needs plate time against MLB pitching in game situations…..as much as possible….this isn’t a team full of vets where you can run ST as you described Most of the “starters” are unproven
early spring training isn't all MLB pitching. simmer down, this is the break in period after an offseason. As i've seen others post the last few months, you do have some uniformed takes. I'm starting to agree with them
Who says I’m simmered…..if you believe JW is just fine with swing and doesn’t need as many turns at the plate as humanly possible before the season starts…..I guess you’re entitled to opinion. When he’s hitting .190 a month into the season and posts start popping up as to why he was taken north….remember my bad “TAKE”
lol and how would that differ from other month he’s played if you think an extra at bat or two is going to miraculously Turn JW into a good hitter you’re delusional or drinking way too much. You have no idea what he’s doing on the side that may be more Beneficial than getting at bats against minor leaguers but u always find a reason to whine
So in your great baseball wisdom…..hitting of a tee…..is just as good as live MLB pitching…..for ole JW. Didn’t you hear, he’s been working real hard at Driveline…..new stance,……new swing…..but lets not find as many AB’s in ST to test that
Have you ever watched hitters work on back fields in Spring? Hitting off a tee is a small part of it. They face live pitching, sometimes from major league pitchers sometimes minor league guys. They work on specific things like going the other way, etc, and they get 20 times the amount of at bats than they would in a game. It is arguably more valuable than in game at bats, which in Spring are going to be minor league pitchers from the other team a lot of the time anyway.
Johnny, all of this is true. However, back in the day when listening to broadcasts, it was often mentioned that a hitter might get a couple of bats against an opposing pitcher and then take off to the back fields for this type of work.
If someone is seriously claiming that practice on the backfield is more beneficial than live game situational hitting…….and yes JW could be practicing all day somewhere AND get his 4 game AB’s that would consume 2.5hrs…..
What I am saying is - at this point in Spring - there really isn't much difference in backfield work and game action. Could he get at bats in the game AND work on the backfield? Sure. Would it make a difference? Not really. Certainly not enough to complain about. But you can find a way to complain about anything.

I’m waiting for ccards to figure out a complaint today. They shut out the Mets scored 3 runs by a home run scored 6 runs but I’m sure somehow they didn’t win the right way

just wondering if Gorman's HR was wind-aided.
Unsure but I know this .. that was an 'oppo's HR as they term hit .... Opposite field slight to left center field over the wall at 387 ft.
That demonstrates power in MLB when a left handed batter can jack one out not to his pull side . Not a long list of players that have that ability.

Should we put you in the “JW doesn’t require as many PA as possible in ST” column….brilliant
Perhaps we just save him for the regular season
