True....though his extremely low 22 XBH's in 347 MLB PA's is concerning.
He will need to show a lot more than that in 2026.
He is young. Could improve.

MVP of the league.
For me that merits some runway

If Donovan gets traded you move Wetherholt to third and hope Saggese turns in to Donovan 2.0 at second.
Gorman should DH

Every franchise has players who have had a great year in the minors, but can’t put it together in the Majors.
Carp, I don't think you are looking at his track record. He would seem to have the kind of talent that can make a solid career. No, he won't be a "superstar," but he can have a productive role on just about any team.
with what manager and hitting coach? In both 2024 and 2025 he's gone backwards from his highwatermark at AA. If he figures this out on his own with no decent MLB talent development and coaches in place, it will be a surprise.

Didn’t say he was. The meh for both of them was interesting.

No. To be the 26 man you need to bunt, run, play superior late defense. His poor ratings greatly out weigh the benefits.

The 26 man is a master of jack of all trades. Vic Davillio. Matty Alou.

"excellent"

I'm not rooting against the kid, I never pull against any Cardinal (okay maybe A. Pallante in the SR  ) but I know what I've seen and to me he's J.A.G.

But I hope you TS fans are right and he does end up being a useful SUP, but not holding my breathe unless those metrics I listed really take a big jump this season.

Never say never. Predicting the future with assuredness only leaves you exposed to possible future ridicule.

I didn’t predict anything. I stated what it took to be my 26 man, and correlated his stats previously posted. Then I described the position with former examples.

+1...using logic will get you nowhere...you have to believe and hope that all Cardinals prospects will be stars!... and then (buzz) at anyone who disagrees...
