Are you suggesting Petro is not a HOFer? Seriously? His record speaks for itself he has absolutely everything except a Norris. Gold medalist. I'll never understand the disdain Blues fans have for the best player the org produced in decades.
He probably is a hall of famer but it’s certainly not a slam dunk. He never had a season where he was even close to the best defenseman in the league, at least not according to Norris voters. He was really, really good for a really long time but it’s not called the hall of really good. The cups, especially being a cup winning captain, and the gold medal probably do put him in though.
He's undoubtedly a HOFer. His International record is in his favor as well. 2012 he was easily the best all around D-man, but Karlsson got it because Norris votes often don't make a lick of sense. In his era he was right up there with Keith, Doughty, and Chara as the best in the world. When we got our Toews/Bergeron/Kopitar equivalent in O'Reilly we finally got over the hump. There might be some naysayers but his reputation around the game is much higher than it is amongst jilted Blues fans apparently.

The issue I have is that Cups are nice. But Triple Gold is the standard for the NHL HOF. Petro isn’t a Triple Gold Member

World Championship is by far the least important part of that distinction and triple Gold has never been a standard for HOF, there's only 30 triple gold members in total.

People here are so stupid lol

Led 2 franchises to first ever cups
Leading the Modern era in shot blocks
Cup winning goal
Led the entire NHL in assists
One of the best outlet passes and defensive sticks in nhl history

Most importantly won everything

No wonder Armstrong thinks about him every time he walks by statues

Bernie Federko though .. hahahaha

Keith, Doughty, and Chara all won Norris trophies and Petro never even finished in the top 3. Sorry but that puts him a cut below those other guys. Like I said I think he gets in but some people around here need to pump the brakes a little.

Doughty wasn’t even close to Petro defensively. He was a roamer like Josi who threw some hits and excelled on the PP for several years. That’s why Team Canada picked Boss to lead…not Doughty.

Tell Armstrong to pump the brakes. It’s his biggest regret and he sees pietrangelo every time he walks by statues lol

Mike from Top Shelf Hockey suggest that Carolina could be interested in Thomas if he is truely abailable.

I would start with asking for Nikisin, Bradley Nadaeu for starters

Would love to have Nikishin but him and Nadeau is just quantity and not enough quality. If we are gonna move Thomas it’s Montreal or bust …Hage is the center we need in return .

He's not some kind of lock for the HOF no matter how many times the clown says it.

I never revered him, he did not bleed Blue and was not the least bit surprised he split from here which proved me right for me.

You can call that what you will.

The good news about trading with Carolina is that they are excellent at scouting talent, and they have so many great prospects that they could deal.

The bad news about trading with Carolina is that they know talent, and Doug Armstrong doesn't.

I just don't see any real scenario in which 18 is truly available. Is he available in the sense that they are one of the worst teams in the league so therefore Steen would be remiss to not listen on everybody? Sure.

But, it doesn't seem to me like the Blues are an organization that can reasonably withstand a true rebuild. Trading Thomas would mean a complete rebuild of many years. They simply have no other centers.

Dvorsky has shown some things but is miles away from being a number 1 center.

Just doesn't make sense.

Adding another QUALITY center with Thomas either through free agency or the premium pick they are trending towards does make sense.

Who know what they will do but it just doesn't make any sense on any level that I can see.
