5-5 in last 10 after two strong team wins at home (remember the start of the season?)

No doubt the team is feeling good as a whole. You can see the jump in their game. Won a shootout? Maybe gaining momentum and overcoming some mental blocks.

Let's say they do the opposite of last season and finish winning 7 of 9 (instead of losing 7 of 9) before the break, without Thomas. That's EDM, WIN, DAL, LA, DAL, FLA, Columbus, NSH, DAL, starting on the road, until the break. Perhaps doable (wouldn't bet on it). Puts us at 60pts and maybe in a WC seat.

Does that make Thomas more or less expendable?

Thomas is in that category of “Your Return Needs to Overwhelm Me” like the Matthew Tkachuk trade for Jonathan Huberdeau (29), MacKenzie Weegar (29), a First-Round Pick and a Prospect (Cole Schwindt).

A trade like that would probably never happen midseason. However, if I was to use someone like Detroit as an example, I’m looking for a return of Raymond, ASP, & Emmit Finnie

Doesnt matter. Team needs to sell.

Exactly. The goal still should be trade Schenn Binner Faulk. 19 mil clearance in cap frees up spots for younger guys. Might even be a player for a guy like Robertson.

At this point, I’d trade Thomas, Kyrou, and Binnington for picks and maybe a player or two. Commit to the direction and build it properly.

Id put parayko in that category too. Set your core age back, move the right guys on draft night if they like any team that may pick 1-7ish idk. Then you have some certainty of who you get. Basically double dipping with young talent and your own draft position. Players you make these moves over the next 1.5 years and you have numerous waves of highly touted players coming in.

As much fun as it would be to get robo i dont think that would be wise. Hes not the guy thats going to fix this teams. Better to hold the money and use thd assets elsewhere.
