The specter of the new CBA is just too frightening to expect BDW Jr. not to be cowering in a corner somewhere right now counting his money.

I would try to acquire him. I think a new team might be what he needs. Dude is young with lots of potential. An Old Friend wrote: ↑10 Dec 2025 15:33 pmThe Cardinals already have a Coby Mayo... he's named Jordan Walker. If you want to match up with them you have to go with pitching. Who do you have that they would want and you would be willing to trade? It has to be both. The group of pitchers I could see the Cardinals could part with are Jojo Romero, Andre Pallante, Pete Hansen, and maybe one of Brycen Mautz or Ixan Henderson. Have I missed anyone? Or, maybe we could trade them Contreras and they could have a 5 man rotation.Cardinals4Life wrote: ↑10 Dec 2025 12:14 pmCards need to go get Coby Mayo.Talkin' Baseball wrote: ↑10 Dec 2025 12:12 pm The Orioles now have Ryan Mountcastle, Coby Mayo, Sam Basallo, and Pete Alonso at 1B. They’ll trade him for pitching.Cardinals4Life wrote: ↑10 Dec 2025 12:14 pmCards need to go get Coby Mayo.Talkin' Baseball wrote: ↑10 Dec 2025 12:12 pm The Orioles now have Ryan Mountcastle, Coby Mayo, Sam Basallo, and Pete Alonso at 1B. They are building a strong four man rotation!
Blame the doofus who screwed the organization up over the last 5+ years.
I don't think this will end well for owners if there's a stoppage. I don't think players will ever agree to a salary cap. And if they have half a brain, most of them can get by for 3 years with no pay. Who wouldn't like to be paid even a minimum salary of $760,000 a year for just 1 year?Talkin' Baseball wrote: ↑10 Dec 2025 15:55 pmMore like salivating. This could be a huge positive development for them.
Set him straight Shady! At least you and I know no team will give up anyone worth a [shirt] for Burleson!
Yeah, most likely.cardinalsfan27 wrote: ↑10 Dec 2025 16:21 pmThey’ll trade him for pitching.Cardinals4Life wrote: ↑10 Dec 2025 12:14 pmCards need to go get Coby Mayo.Talkin' Baseball wrote: ↑10 Dec 2025 12:12 pm The Orioles now have Ryan Mountcastle, Coby Mayo, Sam Basallo, and Pete Alonso at 1B. In your view, why does Mayo have potential but Walker doesn’t?Cardinals4Life wrote: ↑10 Dec 2025 15:59 pmI would try to acquire him. I think a new team might be what he needs. Same for Walker, perhaps minus the potential lol.
Seen Walker in person a lot. JMO, but I don't think he is as near athletic as people think. Yes, the dude is a mountain of a man....but, I personally think he is somewhat "duck footed" and doesn't move that well. People say he has great speed. Haven't seen it. If you look at a lot of still photos of his swing, he looks extremely awkward in almost 100% of them. Always dow on a knee, ankles rolled awkwardly. I've never seen such a hyped young player look so awkward at basic baseball things. An Old Friend wrote: ↑11 Dec 2025 07:06 amIn your view, why does Mayo have potential but Walker doesn’t?Cardinals4Life wrote: ↑10 Dec 2025 15:59 pmI would try to acquire him. So then Coby Mayo, a large dude in his own right, who is likely limited to 1B... has more potential, why exactly? Ya kinda skipped the question.Cardinals4Life wrote: ↑11 Dec 2025 07:49 amSeen Walker in person a lot. JMO, but I don't think he is as near athletic as people think. I really hope I am wrong and he becomes what everyone hopes. I am rooting for him. I just haven't seen it.
Even so, they ranked DEAD LAST in HRs and RBIs from the 1B position: 14 Hrs, 60 RBIs.Talkin' Baseball wrote: ↑10 Dec 2025 12:12 pm The Orioles now have Ryan Mountcastle, Coby Mayo, Sam Basallo, and Pete Alonso at 1B. They are building a strong four man rotation!
The Cardinals as a team ranked 29th in HRs, and the esteemed hitting coach is back for more.TXCardsFanX wrote: ↑11 Dec 2025 07:58 amEven so, they ranked DEAD LAST in HRs and RBIs from the 1B position: 14 Hrs, 60 RBIs.Talkin' Baseball wrote: ↑10 Dec 2025 12:12 pm The Orioles now have Ryan Mountcastle, Coby Mayo, Sam Basallo, and Pete Alonso at 1B. They also posted a 0.679 OPS from 1B last year. Not last, but close!
