Saw a clip a day or 2 ago where LA bound Woo….when asked by Stl Louis’s own Amsinger on MLB net indicated that NOOT was the most precious trade piece that Bloom is holding. This fella….a corner OFer
‘24
.244, .758, 12HR 45 RBI
‘25
.234, .686, 13HR 48 RBI
If so trade him asap
Even if Woo is completely wrong and very few teams are interested trade him asap
Amen Bomber….if you can get a talented player for Nooter….ink it now
Who did we get for TO? I forget...
We got nothing for O’Neill.
Should have traded him 2 years before they did.
Mozeliak never sold high on any player. His record on this aspect of talent evaluation was complete failure.
What does that have to do with Nootbaar?

My view. If Noot is drawing most interest what does that say about the rest of our roster and trade value.

Just my opinion but at best a 4th outfielder on a good team.

I can't believe this nobody player still has fans. His ISO last year was a banjo bat .128. And his RBI total was 48, a career high, in 583 PAs. So much for the notion that if only he could get that many PAs, he would be special. 0.8 fWAR, and I don't know how he managed that because FG rated him a negative as a base runner and on offense and defense.
But if he does still have fans elsewhere, it's time to deal him. Check out his projection for next year by Steamers.

Lotta hate in here for Noot but truth is when healthy he's the Cardinals best all round OF'er w/strong upside.
I wouldn't deal him until mid season, after his return and hopefully he increases that trade value even more.

Rock, he’ll be 29 end of next season. So he goes from all these years of hope, promise and breakout….directly to declining in 30’s??
Where’s this upside? If the narrative is that he hasn’t fulfilled his “potential” because of injuries every season….then he also need to realize he can’t stay healthy…..either way, below avg production for corner OF

If you can get some sort of return for him now, deal him now.

Low bar being the recent Cardinals team best all round OF'er and notice I said "when healthy".
IF he'd stay healthy and get 600 PA's, then I'd bet he could be a .350 OB%/.800 OPS hitter w/20 HR potential.
No doubt he's injury prone.
But there's a reason Woo reports multiple teams are interested, they see the same thing I do.

Yes, I hope all those teams see the same “things” you do
And if Bloom gets some real talent back……a bust of that magnificent chin should be displayed prominently at Busch

I just don't see how Nootbaar could be getting more trade interest than Donovan. The only thing I can think of would be Nootbaar wouldn't require as much of a return.

As I said above, I'd wait to deal him mid season in the hopes he puts together a couple solid months and ups the trade value.

He's not.
One of the most impressive things Bloom has done so far is his handling of the Nootbaar situation. About a week before the GM meetings for "no apparent reason" he gives a public update on Noot's recovery. People wondered if he might miss the whole season, but no, he may be ready for the opener, if not about a month after. He will not miss significant time. Now about a week before the Winter Meetings Bloom comments about the good interest in Nootbaar and it is being circulated, and regurgitated, and regurgitated about how much interest there is in Nootbaar. It gets said so often that people accept it as true. Bloom is creating a market for someone who looked unmarketable in October. Mo would/could have never done that.
