Yes, they are better with Arenado at 3b. But it won't matter. They'll suck regardless. Same manager, same coaches, same philosophy, weaker roster than 2025.
Oli Ball will once again prove to be a boring, losing style. Gee, I can't wait.
How'd Oli do when he had an actual, talented team in 2022?

He underperformed. Any more questions?

Good morning.
I struggle to thread a suitable topic. Maybe this will work.
Given: Cardinal Infield will be Willy-JJ-Winn.
Are we a better team with Nolan’s top five defensive effort combined with Scott up the middle.
He may not hit, but that can be found in a corner outfield. Need two corners with power. That would offset his lack of power.
Donovan. I feel he takes third if they trade Arenado. That would suffice, minus the great play often. Does he makes us better with Nolan at third.
So I ask- one simple question. Are we better with Arenado at third.
Enjoy.
Over what time frame? Are you really trying to win in 2026? Starting pitching is the bigger elephant in the room.
Winn and Wetherholt up the middle the next few years.
Move on from Nado and WC.
Donovan is at his peak trade value. Burleson also

I hear ya. No, winning in 2026 would stretch the model. Winning I mean post season. .500 is my expectation. And with player improvment and team construction, that would suffice.

What "crucial decision" in game 1?

Come on, Scouty. Stop feigning ignorance. The failure to remove Helsley when he could not get an out. Everyone at the ballpark and watching at home knew what move should have been made. Everyone except Oliver Marmol.

Anyone other than the guy who was obviously choking. Good grief. No way that can be defended.

I'm gonna propose a different way to look at things. For many years people have looked at 3rd base as a position that also yields big power numbers. Not the case year in and year out. IMO - it is a position that requires an above average defender. I think you have to have defense at that position with the ability to be a slightly above hitter. You have to be at least slightly above average at offense and defense. You have to get some offense out of the position, but not at the cost of defense.
When you look at the Hall of Fame - there isn't many guys that were great hitters and poor defenders. A bad defender at 3rd yields too many extra base hits/errors, which is tough to make up with the bat.
Bregman is perfect for this position - Donovan is the best Bregman comp, so I with we would move on from Arenado and play Donovan at 3rd, since we don't need a super=utility guy anymore.

I wasn't familiar with the term Ranger Factor but when I looked it up, Arenado led the league this year in RF/G, range factor by game at 2.73.
Put outs + assists / games played.

Many here say yes. Defense is top three ML. Offense is last three- just kidding.
What’s your take.
