I thought Noot was a fit for them at the trade deadline and still sort of do, but now that we are to the offseason there are more options available to them and think they will aim higher. Think Jarren Duran or Kyle Tucker. The only reason they might go for someone like Noot instead of them is that they have 3-4 very highly rated OF prospects and Nootbaar could be a bridge to one of them.
I also think they will go after Tucker and likely sign him. They could use Noot in a platoon in LF or CF, with Tucker in RF.

If Nootbaar had this condition and the Cardinals knew it, why was he playing the last weekend in Chicago? And if the medical staff didn't know it, that's another issue. This franchise has a sordid history of dealing with medical issues.

A quick reminder that I am the only person on the planet who correctly advised in each of the past 5 seasons that STL trade Mootbaar - before it was too late.
Initially, every single person disagreed with my perfect analysis.
But I knew that it was inevitable that my analysis would prove to be correct.

Mo certainly didn't.
The STL Cardinal Marketing Company offered a contract just large enough to appear interested in retaining Pujols, but small enough to guarantee is departure.
And it was the right thing to do.

Being the only person on the planet who was correct about Nootbaar every single day for 5 seasons is about as focused and specific as a thing can ever be.
Pretty much the opposite of a broad brush.

That's not the point I was making here. Nobody wanted to pay the Angel contract.
Rather my point is with the poster who thinks he is the only person here who has an original thought.
The hubub with Pujols came about because of the Holliday extension. I said that was the start of the division I never said they should have signed him.
Let's get that straight for you and others here.

Nootbaar appears to have T.O. sickness. Can't seem to stay on the field. When he does, he's terribly over exposed as a mediocre player.
