Cardinal bats unable to solve the amazing offerings of Javier Asshat. 5 shutout innings......and King gives Suzuki a meatball which ends up in the cheap seats.

2021 draft, 1st round pick...we selected Michael Mcgreevy, and few picks later the Cubs selected LHP Jordan Wicks....Wicks couldn't cut it as a starter with the big league club, so they moved him to reliever last year. McGreevy has solidified his spot in the rotation for at least a few more seasons.

We won that one. :D

2022...Cubs selected RHP Cade Horton, 7th overall. Cards selected "The Elbow", Cooper Hjerpe, 22nd overall....Cade Horton won 11 games this season for the Cubs.

Cubs have CLEARLY won that one.

Is Hjerpe still alive? In the witness protection program? What happened to that guy? Dude was supposed to be major league ready when he was drafted 3 years ago.

Cubs with a the obvious win so far.

Oli brings in Fernandez carrying a gas can, in a 1-0 game, with his best two relievers sitting on the bench well rested.....and of course, a run for the cubs results.

Amazing how Fernandez has gone from potential closer to dog meat. Quite the regression

2024.... Cubs selected 3B, Cam Smith...14th overall. Cards selected SS/2B JJ Wetherholt, 7th overall. Smith trade to Houston, started season with the Stros at 3B...rather good start before going cold the rest of the way...680 OPS in 400ish AB's. JJ won the Texas League MVP in 2 1/2 months of AB's (lost 2 weeks to a virus), before hitting even better in AAA for 2 months.

Tough to call a winner, but JJ's upside and historical hitting ability is better than Smith's. Smith has cracked the majors by a full year, but that might be due to desperation by the Stros.

Slight nod for now to JJ

Ikr. I guess someone has to pitch. I'll bet the guy gets released soon after the season is over.
