2 hits
a Gorman screwup
Scott throwing to the wrong base

You know that Jon Jay has been talking to him about where and when to throw the ball, yet he keeps throwing to the wrong base!

Gray limits the damage despite clueless defense from Gorman and Scott.

Jay can't throw it for him . Must be frustrating for Jay to watch that . If the player has poor judgment , that's a tough nut to crack . For some reason Scott's brain thinks he can throw the guy out at 3rd , doesn't , and then now only allows a 2nd RISP but takes away the double play possibility as there was one out . If you are the pitcher , Sonny Gray , you must be thinking Oh great ! Take away the ground ball double play for me . Thanks a lot , Victor !

I know that Bloom has a lot on his plate.
Two things that I hope become much greater emphasis are fundamentals and baseball IQ.
I realize the obvious need for physical talent but I also hope they start weeding out some of the simpletons?
Gorman and Nootbaar clearly don’t have it upstairs.
Scott and Walker are very questionable.
Hopefully Contreras and Herrera keep hitting because neither of them is a rocket scientist.
