I do not agree with the notion that Oli should finish out his contract in 2026 and be the manager because it is a rebuild anyway, and he is there to work with the young players. Part of a rebuild, is rebuilding the culture. And in my opinion, Oli is hugely responsible for the negative culture and wrong culture on the current Cardinals. He has to go. They cannot allow his toxicity to continue to permeate through the organizations young players.
So what are you doing in 2026? Do you take the chance on a first year manager? A Varitek or Yadi? Or do you bring in an established manager who has a track record? If so, who is that established manager? Maddon? Francona?
If Varitek were hired over Yadi, would Yadi be done with the Cardinals organization?
I think some of Yadis distance from the Cardinals is because he does not want to infringe on the current management. Yadi has made it know he wants to manage. Lets be clear here, his baseball IQ is top .001% so for everyone that says he can not lead or manage it is a much lower risk than the current clown show or a retread.

Manager: Albert Pujols
Pitching Coach: Yadier Molina
Bench Coach: Daniel Descalso
OF Coach: Jon Jay
1st Base Coach: Stubby Clapp
IF Coach/3rd Base Coach: Jose Oquendo
Bullpen Coach: Chris Carpenter
Hitting Coach: Matt Holliday
To answer your question about Yadi....yes, I think he'd be done with Cards if we hired another former C over him.
I think it would be a mistake to not get some people from other orgs in order to take their orgs good ideas.

A dead raccoon could lead better than oli.

Katie Woo and Derrick Goold feel very strong Marmol is coming back to manage in 2026.
That’s not a good start to offseason, ticket sales will plummet even more
I've got to believe none of that is coming from Bloom and it's just the dying gasp of the Mozeliak regime.
Seriously, can anyone think of a
single reason that a person in Bloom's position would keep Marmol?
If the answer is "Because DeWitt says so" I ask: Can anyone think of a
single reason DeWitt would keep Marmol?
Bloom will begin his tenure with the same amount of venom and hatred the large majority of the fanbase has for Mo if he does that and Dewitt will only see further declining ticket sales.
Unless their intention is to just alienate the fanbase I don’t think either of them want that. I have been saying for a while that simply hiring a new manager will bring back a substantial portion of the fanbase. Not just some non qualified yes man of course. It will need to be a stud hire. But it will not take a big spending offseason to bring the fans back.
Exactly. I understand the argument that Marmol should not be blamed for a flawed roster, but he's an average manager at best. Not difficult or expensive to replace. When you weigh that against the need for a major PR break from the Mo era, there is literally not a single reason to keep him.
If he's the manager in 2026, that would be tangible evidence that DeWitt isn't just checked out, but that he's self-sabotaging and preparing to sell the team.
That's essentially the way I see it.
You keep Marmol, you keep the stink of Mo.
He is 100% tied to Mo and that's all there is to it.
