Biggest need? Clearly a SP(maybe two?) although I think they sign a veteran also.
I expect a Catcher(or two?) to be dealt.
Also an OF.
I would deal Nootbaar before he sinks to zero trade value.
He is a tease. Can’t stay healthy and has mini hot streaks just often enough to keep you interested.
Like I said....a tease!
Always leaves an empty feeling, always a desire for something with more substance.
I have understood his game with perfection for the past 4 seasons.

I hope he calls the Twins. They clearly want to cut payroll.rockondlouie wrote: ↑24 Aug 2025 12:43 pm One of:

Catching Prospect or even I. Hererra if he insist on catching

#2 level Starting Pitcher w/years of control!

By a #2 pitcher I pretty sure he is talking about a #2 as when you set on the toilet and take a #2 type pitcher. Good luck having any team give you a true #2 pitcher with years of control that doesn’t cost much salary wise for that proposed trade.moose-and-squirrel wrote: ↑24 Aug 2025 12:47 pmwho is that pitcher?rockondlouie wrote: ↑24 Aug 2025 12:43 pm One of:

In a perfect trade, I'd love to get B. Woo out of Seattle!![]()

Ryan would be a great get, free agent in 2028 so you'd get at least one (maybe two if there's no lockout in 2027) season(s).WaltsSuccessor wrote: ↑24 Aug 2025 21:16 pmI hope he calls the Twins. They clearly want to cut payroll.rockondlouie wrote: ↑24 Aug 2025 12:43 pm One of:

Plan A: Kick the tires on Joe Ryan. Going to take more than the above package though. Two more years of arbitration control. But there’s your #1.
Plan B: Pablo Lopez, assuming he finishes the season healthy. He’s owed $21m each of next two seasons. Slightly more than we paid Mikolas but actually is a #2.
India got Singer.icon wrote: ↑24 Aug 2025 21:17 pm He'll have to give to get. Guys like Nootbaar fetch nothing. And I seriously doubt he trades Crooks in a rebuild. Not yet anyway. That would mean another year of Pages/Pozo at C because Bernal isn't ready. Maybe Crooks gets traded next offseason unless he makes himself invaluable to the Cardinals.
I'm thinking Donovan has to be on the block. He has value -- but only 2 more years of control and shows no inclination to sign an extension. And now, I'm not even sure Bloom would offer one or be allowed to offer one. But whom to package with with Donovan to net a young stud starter with years of control because Donovan alone won't get such a deal done? Of course, Noot or Saggese could be a throw-in, but perhaps Walker could clinch the deal if the trading partner in question wants to take a flier on untapping his potential at still a young age.
Just spitballing here.
I would think the Twins will be much more inclined to move Lopez because of his contract and their motivation to shed payroll. Plus side to that is if the Cards take on all the money, the package is more in line with your idea. Joe Ryan is going to take a haul.rockondlouie wrote: ↑25 Aug 2025 08:36 amRyan would be a great get, free agent in 2028 so you'd get at least one (maybe two if there's no lockout in 2027) season(s).WaltsSuccessor wrote: ↑24 Aug 2025 21:16 pmI hope he calls the Twins. I've wanted Lopez since he was a Marlin, same age and contract status as Ryan.
Good calls Walt
He never hesitates to tell everyone how [shirt]ty all the current players are, yet never holds the “architect” of this fiasco responsible.kscardsfan wrote: ↑24 Aug 2025 15:43 pmYou like this lineup? This is the result of the current regime.
