"If you're going to give a young guy the day off, it's best to do it after he's had a great game, so that as he's sitting there on the bench, he's feeling good about his game and what he's accomplished as he replays it in his head. Whereas if you sit a guy after he's had a bad game, negativity gets into his head and he starts beating himself up."
Thanks Blackinkbiz for the quote. Could not remember when he said the above.
After 6 decades of MLB I cannot remember ANY manager saying such mental tripe. Safe to say that TLR, Lasorda, Sparky, Alston, Cox, Weaver, Martin, Durocher et al would throw you out of the clubhouse or dugout if such blasphemy was uttered.
OF course the Marmot is the same mental midget that said (paraphrasing) he was not worried about whether he would manage the Cardinals beyond the end of this season something or somehow things would work out. Must be listening to MO Ran and his gibberish how other MLB teams want his services.

That was the worst Harry Caray impression ever. Can’t believe they’re related.

Instead of sharing their music ideas, maybe Victor Scott should take hitting lessons from Chandler Simpson. Just slap the ball the other way, then steal 2nd base. What a concept.

That guy swings at anything. No reason to throw him a strike.
