First, Bloom needs to hire "his" guy
Second, pretty sure that was agreed upon w/BDWJr before he accepted the job
Third, if he does choose Yadi (or Albert) it will be because he wants them and no Dewitt
Fourth, I don't think there would be any clash of egos.........the egomaniac POBO is retiring and Bloom seems to be the antithesis of Mo
This is the correct take.
Don't know if the Cardinals will keep Oli or not, but I don't expect that Molina will be the manager in 2026.
Manly because:
1. He's proved nothing as a manager.
2. it would be so hard to fire him.
If the club is performing poorly, why would it be hard to fire him?
Molina's fans see no evil with him. They think he's the toughest, smartest, and greatest leader in the history of baseball.
They'd blame any failure on others, and they'd scream bloody murder if he were canned.
Are they wrong? He was a badass as a player. And he would bring some fire to the team. That is exactly what is needed.

So….
They would rather lose with molina, than perhaps win with someone else …
Remarkable
They wouldn't see it in those terms. They'd claim others were at fault. They'd say Yadi wasn't given a fair shot because bla bla bla.
I hate to think of bad things would have to get before these people would agree that Molina needed to be fired.
One guy more important than winning………Remarkable

Hiring Molina would excite the fan base. But they still need to win. I am pretty sure when Bloom was hired all manager scenarios were discussed and agreed upon. And last night's appearance as a "honorary coach" was part of the plan. I don't remember that distinction ever offered before.
So do you think Molina will be manager next season?
I have no idea, but it would be naive to think something as important as a manager not being discussed when hiring a new GM. My gut says Bloom is there to increase value and potential for a team, that is for sale.

Molina is not Bloom’s idea of a manager. He may not keep Marmol, but he’ll hire 2.0. Yadi will want more control than anyone since TLR and that’s not Bloom would be looking for. The ONLY way Molina is the manager in 2026 is if DeWitt demands it and there’s no way Bloom could be POBO after that.
You must know Bloom personally.

It's almost assuredly a tank sock.

Based on nothing, Red likes to think he knows things others don't.
Try not to hold it against him. His job on CT is the be the 'I hate everything, Grumble Grumble Grumble.' guy

Yes, front offices should live in fear of the "what if" scenarios.

Yadier Molina would manage circles around the current pud.

I’m neutral on the idea of Molina as Manager.
Not sure I understand the conjecture with Bloom???
Molina is here to observe and learn from Oli.
Learn what exactly??
Learn what NOT to do as a Manager.

The last two managers who had "input" won World Series with multiple WS and post season appearances.
Yeah I want the next manager to have a say.
It only makes sense and it works.

Well they stuck with Mozeliak for like 18 years. They aren't going to fire Bloom less than 6 months into the gig.
Exactly.
It's a dysfunctional organization, but it's not insane.
