You wait either way, IMO. No reason to bring him up now and potentially burn a year of control when they aren’t really playing for anything.Cusecards wrote: ↑24 Jul 2025 22:23 pmMaybe they have and he will be dealt?Quincy Varnish wrote: ↑24 Jul 2025 22:06 pm1400+ PA and nobody’s figured out that Gorman sucks yet?
You could then also deal Arenado and put Donovan at 3B?
You could still wait on JJ until at least September and put Saggese at 2B?
In the meantime....unless those moves are made you still wait on JJ.
Wetherholt needs to be called up soon

Give him a cup of coffee in September. Let him have a taste of MLB. Then see what happens regarding offseason moves.

Re: Wetherholt needs to be called up soon
Whatever the date is that they can call him up and not have to burn a year control, I don't know if that's September 1, I call him up immediately. And I don't care who that displaces. If Donovan is still here, he can play left field the rest of the year. If Gorman is still here, he can go back to the bench and rest his back. If Saggese is still here, he can get starts at 2nd, 3rd or, shortstop when the starters are getting a day off.Quincy Varnish wrote: ↑25 Jul 2025 00:10 am You wait either way, IMO. But yeah, there's definitely no need to bring him up and burn a year of control. The team isn't going anywhere. But it's pretty obvious that he is going to make the opening day roster next year, so I think you get him up here as soon as you can and let him start there through the end of the season.

They have others to sort through.
JJ will become a fixture in 2026.
