There is ZERO to build around on this team. ZERO. Build around means that you have a star player. There are ZERO stars in STL.

It's getting sadder everyday to see fans accept the Reds and Pirates mentality as acceptable. We have role players. 9 role players will not win.

I agree no one is untouchable. Depends on the return. There are several players that should be building blocks to a contender in the next 2-4 years.

Liberatore
Saggese
Gorman
Burleson
Scott
Noot
Walker

Which ones take a step forward is questionable but all are potentially solid players on a contending team. Problem as pointed out is there is no real stars. Maybe Herrera becomes one. Maybe Winn. Maybe JJ W.

And maybe some of the pitchers coming up are real. But there are no Skenes down there and nothing like a Judge on the horizon. Nothing resembling a franchise type player unless JJ is seriously a power hitting 900 OPS guy.

Fair point, but I never said NOT to add to the 4 names I mentioned. Along with Wetherholt, Bernal and Doyle you have a decent foundation to build on with the 7 total, just need 2 big thumpers and 2 aces lol...and with the cheapness of this ownership, you are likely not getting this unless they are home grown

How is it possible that nobody wanted our core players?
