Can the All Star Game get any worse?
The NL has ZERO pitchers left. How would you propose to end the game?

The NHL, the toughest sport of them all some say, uses shootouts to decide actual games.
I would propose the managers of the opposing teams, actually manage to win. Call me, old-fashioned, but I actually remember those times.
The participation medal is the nomination itself. Either play the game or stop doing this.
It's an exhibition game in which the managers try to get every player that made the team into the game. Are you really THAT upset about an all-star game? My goodness.

Some day some kid is going to ask why was Schwarber the MVP of an All-star game where he went 0 for 2 with a walk.

So you propose leaving the last pitcher available to throw how ever innings it takes? Yea, I'll say it. You're old fashioned.
Its an honor, and in some cases, a once in a lifetime experience, and you want the manager to tell a player he isn't going to play because we're sticking with this lineup.

It was a great game. Enjoy it like everyone else did.

The only problem i had was the MVP. That kind of tarnished the game itself.

A few years ago the fans voted Musial's 12th inning called walkoff HR in Milwaukee,1955 as the greatest All Star moment. I guess you'd replace that with Scwarber's batting practice.

You know the All Star Game used to mean something.

Yeah, and they used to wear flannel uniforms and have Ladies’ Day and single-gate doubleheaders. Times change.

Name the All-Star team, maybe do the HR Derby and be done. No need for the game.

For the last couple of decades, I've just been glad when it's over and back to real games.

Same here — and now the break is even longer. No games until Friday? Ugh.

Was that final out in the 9th actually an out?

I think the umps were told to make the "swing off" happen.

No way that's an out in an MLB game in a tie game in the 9th right?

That game was exciting for about 5 minutes.

The game is so meaningless……would a tie really be all that bad?
