Complaining and venting on an anonymous Internet forum changes nothing. Solves nothing. Proves nothing.

Refusing to wallow in the murk of the usual negative pigsty doesn’t make one a sycophant. Sorry to burst your bubble.

For someone who claims to have played and followed the game for what, 70+ years(?) you sure don't seem to understand the basics of these baseball debates.

Questioning ownership, the POBO/GM and manager is a time honored tradition almost uniquely engrained in our baseball culture.

It's NOT "..wallow(-ing) in the murk of the usual negative pigsty".

It's TRADITION and baseball discussions like we have here in CT are happening in every single MLB city.

That’s fine, if it involves both the bad and the good. But this place has simply become a negativity blast furnace. For instance, no one cares at all about Church and Antico hitting well.

Then find a new forum or way to spend your time and stop telling others what is or isn’t acceptable to post on a public forum that you do not own. No one cares whether you think they’re being overly negative, and it’s also possible to appreciate well-performing prospects while being heavily discouraged and frustrated by the major league club.

Dallas has an award-wining sports/guys radio station called The Ticket. It’s been on since the 90s. One of the founders and hosts was a huge baseball fan and he would always say “baseball is a talking sport”. Obviously, Cranny would disagree unless, of course, you happened to agree with Cranny’s POV most of the time. Cranny would censure all opposition to Bill/Moe if he could, suggesting posters are too negative and they should take a break from posting. That’s why he is widely known as a jag bag around here. People don’t like that.

Youboughtit wrote: 07 Jul 2025 17:06 pm Stop it with the Mo hate. He is obviously doing a good job of what Dewitt wants because the fans blame him for the owner being cheap. Fans need to realize Mo is there to be a scapegoat. His hands are tied. Until the payroll is top 10 there is no reason to support this owner. The recipe is proven. Every WS the Cardinals have won they had 2 things in common. Top 5 farm system and top 10 payroll. The farm is currently 11 with 4 top 100 and the #5 pick. The payroll however is $80m below the #10 spot and $40m coming off the books this year. The result is the 2011 team without a Pujols Molina Wainwright and Edmonds.
Sorry, John Mozeliak is the single biggest reason for the demise of the Cardinals.

Simply put, his “efforts” in Free Agency have been complete and total disasters.

Dewitt didn’t go out, pursue, and sign the likes of Leake, Gregerson, Miller, Mikolas, Matz, etc, etc. although he gave his approval.

No other organization would have kept Mozeliak this long.
I except he’s taking the heat for a horrible owner that wants to spend as little as possible with no repercussions. You don’t think Mo would have liked to add better talent? He was hamstrung by a tightwad.
If that's true (and it might be), you'd think he'd move on to protect his own professional legacy and reputation. But I guess everyone has a price.
As most posters have noted...Mo-ran is an embarrassment but he has 2,000,000 reasons to stay... his smugness is annoying...can't wait to see the door hit his (donkey) on the way out

It's simply because this season, for the first time during his ownership, BDWJr slashed $50,000,000 from the payroll w/o re-investing that money in new, better players.

Fans are P I Z Z E D and they have a right to be since we've supported this team (and Dewitt) to the tune of 3M-3.4M for DECADES!

They're also sick of Mo and his horrible Managers.

You simply can't sell minor league players, who may or may not ever amount to anything cranny, and expect Cardinals fans to lap it up.

Baseball, more than any sport since almost everyone in here at least played Little League baseball (many high school and some us even in college), lends itself to questioning the Manager as well as the POBO/GM and ownership.

Not sifting through all the arguing about who's a bigger failure - owner or GM/POBO - to see if anyone brought this up...

The 2005 end of year farm rankings had the Cardinals nowhere near top-5. Same in '06 when they actually won the WS.

Same for end of 2010/2011.

Start with a flawed premise, end up with a flawed conclusion.

Know why? They used prospects to aquire stars. Edmonds Rolen etc all were acquired through trades. However even dealing their top prospects for several years they were still between 12-15 farm rankings with the leftovers. The actual rank doesn’t account for all the players they traded to win. To be honest that’s what this team needs to do. Wetherholt will be at 2B soon and Donovan to OF. So Gorman Walker Nootbar Hererra Segesse annd Burleson are all fighting for RF and DH. They need to package 2 with Helsley and get a RH OF with legit power.

No one cares because it's not relevant. When you've won one playoff series in a decade, are 5.5 games behind the Cubs and aren't even in position for a watered-down wild card berth, people aren't going to be distracted by prospects, especially when this system has been abysmal at producing big-league talent. But if Church and Antico hitting well is enough to get you going, I'm happy for you.
