It is getting really difficult to watch him in the field. He covers no ground and takes terrible routes. His play cost several extra bases last night.
I know injuries sort of forced this, but brutal
Yes it was Burleson's fault that Grey's meatballs were getting hammered by the light hitting Brewers
Jeesh...despite all the supporting data you've been shown and despite watching Burly turn singles into doubles and doubles into triples, you still defend him as an outfielder?
Here's a clue for you Shady...Burly can suck defensively AND a pitcher can suck. The two are most definitely NOT mutually exclusive!
You are lost, again. But, I'm sure you were impressed by Contreras' base running last night, though. Wouldn't that qualify as a "suck"?
You had to make 4 edits to that "response" and it's still mess. Thanks for never disappointing us, Mable.

the OP is about Burleson's lack of athleticism on the field. I don't believe it's about Contreras.
Stop trying to hijack the thread.
Just agree that he sucks on defense and the base paths. He can hit with no one on base really well. Perfect lead off man or 9th hitter.
Start a Contreras sucks thread elsewhere

Burleson is a bad outfielder
in general vs. Contreras had a baserunning blunder
last night.
See how that's not a balanced counterargument?

Go crawl in a hole. You aren't the moderator here, Guru. Your scoldings mean nothing to me.The poster I responded to has often hijacked threads of mine with something regarding Contreras or some kind of personal nonsense. Did you admonish him? I doubt it. Because he's one of your gang. You are quite easy to figure out. Stick to reporting. Not hall monitoring.

Burleson's stance kind of reminds me of Rich N's stance.

Burleson is hitting .290+ and still only has a .3 bWAR, and a career .8bWAR. He's a decent option as a cost-controlled player against righties, but he's not a guy you invest much in. Ideally, he's DH only/bench player.

So the do over of the roster with playing the "youngsters", who are not, is saying the future is a singles hitter who cannot field. The year he showed up in STL he looked like the Pillsbury Dough Boy - and people want that to be the future.

He had 42 home runs at AAA in 972 plate appearances. He’s not just a singles hitter.
