That’s discouraging as heck

the game plan seemed to be a heavy focus on his 3rd pitch..."Slider"....he couldn't throw it for a strike for most of the day, then it stopped sliding and started catch too much of the plate.

His best pitch, "Curve", was not used much, but when it was, you saw why it's his best pitch.

I just watched Roby pitch and you’re right, although he started out with mainly fast balls, when a few got hit, he started throwing a lot of sliders which got hit a lot. It seemed like the curve was very effective – sometimes incredibly sharp and less often wild, so it didn’t get hit much either way.
That ump got reversed at least three times on Roby pitches for strikes by our catcher Collins.
