He doesn't really watch the games...just reads box scores and throws sheitt against the wall to see if any of it will stick!Adam2 wrote: ↑09 Jun 2025 07:41 amSurely you aren't serious. Noot's arm isn't elite but is easily better than Burleson's. Walker's arm is absolutely elite, he has a cannon. What are you talking about?Shady wrote: ↑08 Jun 2025 21:26 pmBurly's range would be better in LF. But he has a superior arm to Noot's and, possibly, Walker's in RF. Burleson can fricken' hit against anybody.nebfan wrote: ↑08 Jun 2025 20:40 pm What about walker? He has improved defensively but I really don't see him as much better than burly. Burleys arm is as good or better and his bat is way better. We would be better served with burley in left and nootbaar in right and finding a center fielder that can hit
Burly

Which is kind of why Burleson makes the roster. It creates an odd dynamic with playing time.BrummerStealsHome wrote: ↑09 Jun 2025 09:35 amOK, I hear you.Jatalk wrote: ↑08 Jun 2025 22:01 pmCareer 260; OPS 700. Defense average maybe. Avg better so far we will see if that keeps up. I thought my comment was rather positive but you ain’t building a team around him.BrummerStealsHome wrote: ↑08 Jun 2025 20:53 pm1000 Burly's out there? Where the hell are they? He's what, 7th in NL batting?
My point is that I like Burly on this team at this time. The guy at the "bottom of the list" per se, is Gorman. He doesn't fit now nor will he ever.
IF Gorman stepped up, there would be fewer complaints about having a replacement level player
who makes minimum wage on it. He fills that fine.
Gorman/JJ/Saggese/Walker/whomever steps up takes that playing time away. The role, IMO, he fills
well. LH 1B/pinch hitter that can go into the field if used as a pinch hitter.

Re: Burly
No cornhusker, not even close.
Walker has an absolute cannon in RF, it ranks in the TOP 5% of MLB outfielders.
Burly, on the other hand, has one of the weakest arms in MLB ranking in the BOTTOM 6%.
There defense may appear top be similar to you but Burly's metrics would decline if he were to have the amount of innings Walker has in RF.
Walker in RF this season for 377.3 innings is a -1 DRS/0 OAA
Burly is RF this season for 63 innings is already -1 DRS/0 OAA
To put it bluntly, Burly is a huge liability in RF whereas Walker w/his arm and sprint speed is the better option.

Yeah, you mentioned Walker. He's on the hot seat, but has a longer runway. He has to prove he belongs this year or he's gone, IMO.renostl wrote: ↑09 Jun 2025 10:52 amWhich is kind of why Burleson makes the roster.
